Rep. Scott Rigell’s office is reporting voting irregularities in the Second Precinct this morning.
As of about 11 a.m., the congressman’s office had received 25 reports from 19 precincts about voting machines incorrectly registering votes for his opponent, Suzanne Patrick.
In a news conference, Rigell urged all voters to double check their selections before casting their final ballots.
"They need to slow down and look at the final page," Rigell said, explaining it was clear "something is really structurally and systemically wrong."
He noted that he only knows about the people who caught the glitch.
"What about the ones who didn't pay attention?" he asked.
Rigell spokeswoman Kim Mosser Knapp said the congressman began receiving text messages from supporters around 7:45 a.m. about the issue. Before 10 a.m., his office was reporting calls from voters in the Tallwood, Bayside, Great Neck, Statford Chase, Acredale, Colonial, Centerville, Alanton, Witchduck, Sherry Park, Homestead and Green Run precincts.
The campaign release a video allegedly showing the problem occur this morning at Tallwood Elementary. A spokeswoman declined to identify the man who shot the video, or anyone else who encountered the problem.
