You’ve probably heard the expression, “He drank the Kool-Aid.”
Arianna Huffington once used it to describe supporters of George W. Bush’s economic policies. Bill O’Reilly said it of his critics (“the Kool-Aid people,” he told listeners, “are going nuts“). In 2012, Forbes called it a top annoying cliché used by business leaders.
There’s a problem with this flip word play though: That expression was born of a nightmare.
Thirty-seven years ago today, 918 people died in Jonestown, a Guyana jungle settlement, and at a nearby airstrip. Some of us knew the victims. I grew up with one of them, Maria Katsaris.

When Chuck Cook posted on his timeline an attack of Mike McDermott and Bob Culver in which their FB Pages were tagged. The attack was Chuck Cook didn't like that they advertised on your Blog so Chuck said vote for Jim Mathias. Delegate McDermott defended himself and a bunch of Chuckie Poo's libtards came out attacking. Delegate McDermott mentioned something about drinking the Kool Aid and one of the Chuck's Liberal Butt Buddies made the same claim that they were offended because children died in Jonestown. This is a typical page out of the democrat playbook that goes in hand with "dropping the race card." The try to shame people into seeing it their way.
ReplyDelete12:45 AM I saw that post from that Communist.
ReplyDeleteMr. Richardson,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for the loss of you friend. Based on the story, it seems there may be a technical error in that perhaps she was forced to drink the Kool-Aid. However, I submit to you that Jones' followers died because they followed a madman to the jungle in Guyana. The saying has come to mean being a brain dead follower.
Enough with the PC BS!
I personally take the term HONKEY, and CRACKER as offensive as well, but it has never stopped Blacks from using it! Get over it people!
ReplyDeleteWe need to serve the Kool-aid in Washington DC.
ReplyDeleteI agree with 8:45!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFollowing religion blindly and this is what you get.
ReplyDeleteContinuously amazes me that when someone chooses to be offended they feel they have the right to stop everyone from doing/saying that by which they choose to be offended. Immature BS. Get a life, move on.
ReplyDelete8:45 Mega Dittos. 10:53 NOT religion necessarily, but anyone who has Nefarious, Evil, Skewed, Deceptive, Distorted, ideas. People who follow these types of leadership are destined for failure and destruction at best.
