Mitch McConnell: Rand Paul 'Can Count on Me' in 2016

If Sen. Rand Paul decides to run for president, expect soon-to-be Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to back him up.

"Whatever he decides to do," McConnell told the Lexington Herald-Leader’sSam Youngman. "I don't think he's made a final decision on that. But he'll be able to count on me."

Paul endorsed McConnell in his Republican primary and campaigned with the senior Kentucky senator in his re-election race.

"Obviously, I'm a big supporter of Rand Paul,” McConnell explained. “We've developed a very tight relationship, and I'm for him."
