BALTIMORE – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) released the following statement in response to the Ferguson grand jury decision in the Michael Brown shooting case.
“Ferguson, Missouri, will forever be marked by the needless death of Michael Brown. Let’s turn this incident into the spark that launches a change in attitudes and actions rather than a point where violence begets more violence. I join with the Brown family in calling for peaceful protests in the aftermath of the grand jury’s decision. State and local law enforcement must respect the First Amendment rights of citizens to peaceably assemble, and the rights of the press to report this story. I call upon all Americans – even those who disagree with the grand jury decision – to respect the role of our jury system and the independence of the courts in deciding legal questions.
“I encourage the Justice Department to continue its civil rights investigation into this case and its broader probe of the Ferguson Police Department. I urge Attorney General Holder to take immediate action to revise the Justice Department’s guidance so that once and for all racial profiling is prohibited at all levels of law enforcement. For a more permanent fix, Congress should take up and pass my legislation, the End Racial Profiling Act.”
maybe ben ought to ask bab's about civil rights. How many times she been mugged now? poor ben lost as the junior senator from Maryland and looking to make himself relevant! Good luck fool!
ReplyDeleteB.S. Look at what it was. A local black thug stealing and abusing another minority shop owner thug taking what he wanted. THE OFFICER DID HIS JOB.
ReplyDeleteSo, Ben, when Michael Brown's stepfather got up in front of the crowd and chanted more than 10 times, "Burn It Down!", you now join him in calling for that "peaceful protest"?
ReplyDeleteHuh....
where are Babs and Ben on the Balto penitentiary scandal? these two are pathetic

I couldn't agree more. This whole incident could have been avoided if parents would teach their children to:
Not Steal,
Not walk down the middle of the street,
Not disobey a reasonable request to get out of the middle of the street,
Not be disrespectful to a reasonable request from law enforcement,
And finally in the very words of our Exalted Dear Leader:
"Don't do stupid stuff".
Ben Cardin, here's a hint since your a clueless tool. Racial Profiling has nothing to do with what happened insofar as what happened to dumbass Michael Brown!
Racial profiling? So they think that it would have been a different outcome if it had been any other person who attacked a police officer and went after their gun after committing a strong armed robbery???? You go after a cops gun, and you are likely to get shot!
ReplyDeleteAnd how is it profiling when the description was for a big black young male, with red hat, yellow socks that stole a bunch of cigars and that is who the officer found...and lets not even talk about the cigarillos--we all know that those are used to make blunts..was any toxicology reports on Brown released--It would be interesting to know if he was under the influence of any substances...
Cardin. You are a poor excuse of a man. I guess if Brown had attacked you and pissed in your face you would you call it tragic. When the knock out game hits you will you change your mind. Oh, wait, you have armed bodyguards protecting you. I suggest you walk down the streets of Baltimore at night by yourself. That wont happen because you are all mouth.
ReplyDeleteCrime in Maryland is soaring because of the mentality mouthed by Cardin, the limousine liberal.
ReplyDeleteBarbara & Ben are both doing what they do best., vote with the Party.
ReplyDeleteThey're Democrats and they will never stray from the Party line..., ever. They are liberal to a far, far fault and are the demise of Maryland and America.
Yes, Ben & Barb are doing what they do best.
