PG County Firefighters To Deliver Free Pizza To Residents

WASHINGTON --The doorbell rings, and there is a firefighter delivering a hot oven pizza on the front stoop, asking to see your smoke alarm. No, it's not "Candid Camera." But if there is a working smoke alarm in the house, that pizza is free.

In the spirit of Fire Prevention Week, the Prince George's County Fire/Emergency Medical Services is making a deal with county residents: prove that the smoke alarm is in working order and get a free Domino's pizza.

"If your smoke alarm is determined to be non-working," the fire department said in a recent release, "you will pay for your pizza, however, firefighters will install a new 10-year, tamper proof, with hush feature smoke alarm, free of charge ... everyone is a winner."

  1. They don't have anything else to do , they are being paid by you and I. They purchase these products with money in their budget. It also gives them training for a real productive job. Dominos are looking for some real fast men.

    1. You have no clue. Check out the call load in P.G. and then say they don't have anything better to do.

  2. I'd rather have a new smoke alarm then a pizza. Alarm will last a year or two. Pizza one meal.
