EAST COAST TROOPERS RENEW ‘DRIVE TO SAVE LIVES’ INITIATVE
(PIKESVILLE, MD) – From Maine to Florida, once again, troopers will be working as a cooperative team for the ‘Drive to Save Lives’ campaign this weekend.
Maryland State Police installations along I-95 will be participating in a multi-jurisdictional traffic enforcement effort. Each state police agency from Maine to Florida will participate in this initiative focusing on aggressive driving, distracted driving, speeders, seatbelt use, pedestrian and motorcycle safety, as well as commercial vehicle safety and enforcement.
“This initiative displays the importance of law enforcement agencies to work as a team,” said Colonel Marcus L. Brown, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police. “By targeting actions which cause traffic fatalities, we will achieve our ultimate objective, to save lives.”
Some of the agencies participating in this initiative are: Connecticut State Police, Delaware State Police, Florida Highway Patrol, Georgia State Patrol, Maine State Police, Massachusetts State Police, New Hampshire State Police, New Jersey State Police, New York State Police, North Carolina Highway Patrol, Pennsylvania State Police, Rhode Island State Police, South Carolina State Police, and Virginia State Police.
