Lt. Gov. Brown boasts about his botched health exchange; $288 million was wasted on website

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Yesterday, at a gubernatorial forum on disabilities at the National Federation of the Blind in Baltimore, Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown trumpeted his rollout of Maryland’s botched health care exchange: “I’ve had the opportunity to lead the effort to expand access to affordable, quality health care to almost half-a-million Marylanders.”

Larry Hogan responded, “Meanwhile, here in the real world, of which Anthony Brown knows no part, Marylanders saw their premiums rise by up to 30 percent and learned they couldn’t keep their doctors. So much for access and affordability.”

“As you know, I’ve led the effort on the Affordable Care Act that’s gotten a lot of attention over the last few months,” a smirking Anthony Brown continued in his speech.

Anthony Brown’s health care boondoggle actually got zero attention in the first debate on Oct. 7—not a single question was asked on the topic.

“The waste of $288 million of taxpayer dollars is nothing to smirk about, Lt. Gov. Brown,” said Hogan. “Think of all we could have done with that money—especially for the disabled community here in our state.”

  1. The real sad truth. Here is a prediction. Even if the Republican keep the House and gain the Senate they will do absolutely nothing to eliminate Obama Care. Then maybe those who still have their heads buried in the sand will come to realize that our Government has become to corrupt to save.

  2. This is why I will not vote for Mathias who voted for this in MD. I saw my premiums more than triple so my already excellent plan was obamacare compatible.
At 50+ yrs of age, I now find that if I ever want an IUD it's covered among other useless things. All this extra money spent could and most would be put back into the local economy not that I expect any democrat to ever understand how the economy works though! I am completely and totally disgusted with each and every one of them.

  3. Hogan must win to offset the damage O'Malley has caused.
And yes, James Mathias must go too. Locally he is trying to put windmills throughout Somerset. Wicomico is not far behind and Ocean City is getting them in their coastal waters. This will kill our economy just like it has done in Germany.

  4. The City of Salisbury has a request for bids on building a 2 Megawatt solar/ wind farm in Wicomico County. That would be Jim Ireton(D), Mayor.

We can't even come up with the millions it's going to take to make out poop plant come up into compliance, and the Dems want to spend our money on a proven money losing venture!

Oh, it's GRANT money, though? Does anyone on the Dem side realize where "grant money" comes from???

We Republicans know that it comes directly from taxpayer pockets!

Another knife in our backs is truly what we don't need.

Please vote AGAINST Mathias, Conway, and Brown and anyone who associates with them. Just look for the (D) after their name, or in Josh Hastings case, the lack of an (R).
