County Executive Rick Pollitt Was Sweating In His Own Boots Last Night: UPDATE
When Bob Culver was asked the question, what is the most important thing concerning the County right now, his immediate response was, JOBS. He went on to express how he would concentrate on economic development as a top priority and firmly expressed how he strongly believe the County was not headed in the right direction.
Rick Pollitt then stood up and mirrored Bob's statement that JOBS was the #1 concern in the County.
OH REEEEEEEALY? Well Mr. Pollitt, you stated EIGHT YEARS AGO that jobs was the most important issue. Guess what, you stated the very same thing FOUR YEARS AGO and GO FIGURE, JOBS is still the main problem. Seems to me, YOU can't do your job.
Well, perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps Rick Pollitt HAS improved the job numbers in Wicomico County as he hired THREE lawyers to work directly for the Executives Office. He has increased his staff three fold and he has raised YOUR taxes each and every year to fulfill his goal of growing government at taxpayers expense.
Go Figure. I guess I've had his building bridges thing wrong all these years.
UPDATE: I've been so busy this morning with articles I forgot to mention something VERY important. Last night, (without any exaggeration) there were several of us TRULY concerned that Rick Pollitt was going to faint or have a heart attack.
He was sweating so bad it wasn't funny. Then, as you'll CLEARLY see on PAC 14, he couldn't catch his breath and was grasping for air after only speaking about three words in a sentence. His voice was shaking, it was not good at all. For a guy who claims he is trying to get healthier, with all due respect, the man is a heart attack in the making. ANY pressure whatsoever clearly puts his health at risk and last night was very scary.
Building bridges with the county employees to keep their votes. He only understands government, in a scary way I might add, which is to grow it. He has no clue how to meet a payroll from MONEY EARNED THROUGH HARD WORK. He understands meeting a budget BY TAXING THE PUBLIC. Have you had enough of that yet?????
ReplyDeleteRicky is talking about his job, not yours.
ReplyDeleteNotice all the press now coming out of his office about what is going on in the County. Has there been ONE fundraiser for him? Is he using the PIO all he can to try and show what "he" has done? Sounds to me like he is very beholding to Mackes as he is citing tourism as one of his accomplishments. I heard Pork in the Park is DONE for good. Inquiring minds want to know.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, the existing problems in the county isn't just Rick's, it is the fact that he doesn't know how to choose those he surrounds himself with. Rick has had no business experience. He has always been a bureaucrat and it is time for him to move on to another government job. Actually they pay more across the bridge.
ReplyDeleteLiving on the high hog, so to speak.
DeleteAs I recall Rick talks about his first 4 years as being a transition to this form of government. Who needs 4 years to do that? But that covers his first do nothing 4 years. The last 4 years have seen more businesses close, higher taxes and a general discontent among the residents of the county. Strassburg has just solidified the little click that runs this place. The people need to take back the county. It belongs to us not them.
ReplyDelete1:15 I agree. Need to clean house in executive office. Ricky is gone so much, it is the others that do most of the work. So, it isn't just Ricky that is the problem.
ReplyDeleteHOW COME NO MODERATOR ASKED POLLITT ABOUT THE BOE OUT OF CONTROL SPENDING?
ReplyDeleteI would have a heart attack too if I could eat wherever and whatever wanted on the taxpayers dime with a county credit card.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Rick was struggling last night. He is a good guy just not a leader.
ReplyDeleteWhere were Rick's supporters last night. Didn't appear many showed.
ReplyDeleteRick, your health is more important than your job. I'm sure all were concerned for you. Regardless of our feelings on your leadership capabilities or lack there of, no one wants to see you in that much distress.
ReplyDeleteSweating in his boots. I just threw up in my mouth
ReplyDelete.
Got a fundraising pitch letter for Rick very recently. It was signed by Phil Tilghman, Marty Neat, Alex Azar, Mike Delano and a few others. Delano especially surprised me, but he is a close with Wayne.
ReplyDeleteCan't help but notice some of our elected officials sure do eat good. Just sayin.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time for change, Rick is good guy but this county has pass him by, Need new Leader ( Bob) that is going to get this county back on track. Bob going to get both my wife and myself vote to get Wicomico County back to where's needs to be.
ReplyDelete4 years ago, Strausburg would been on the list too. The obvious one missing is the Urban guy who was generous with the sports thing iN FRUITLAND. He is a businessman I think.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else getting sick and tired of hearing Rick Pollitt claim he was the first County Executive.
ReplyDeleteIt's just as bad as hearing Tony Sarbanes story of his parents being Greek Immigrants.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it. Ricky Pollitt is both the first and the worst County Executive we've ever had.
Going forward, after he is defeated, let's hope for our sake he keeps both of those distinctions!
Go away, OwePollitt.
Pollitt was in over his head when he went to the county. County Executive is a big difference from managing the City of Fruitland.
ReplyDeleteI thought Ricks number one priority was using his P-Card for snacks without get called out on the blog.
ReplyDeleteThe realtors endorsed Culver way before the event. Why would anyone support the local realtors. They got fat during the building boom. Now they are sucking wind. The jack the value of real estate around here so high, now everyone who purchased in that period is upside down. Come on Joe you know that you invested heavy around here and did o.k. but I would not say great.
ReplyDeleteJoe if you were born and raised here trust me you would have made out like a bandit. I am getting out of this redneck infested crap hole and going back to North Carolina trust me. There are country people then there is white trash. Welcome to the capitol of 5'1 round headed dumb asses. Sorry Joe get the heck out of here these turds will use you the screw you. I thought you learned that in Salisbury.
7:35pm can't wait for you to go back to you roots!
ReplyDeleteUs born and raised locals wish you well???
The Daily Litter Box Liner has recently Laura Mitchell and Josh Hastings over the more qualified John Cannon and Larry Dodd. Wicomico County is circling the drain right now and this County will be in the sewer if those two get elect.
ReplyDeleteAll Republicans, good Democrats and Independents need to get out and vote for John Cannon and Larry Dodd over those two liberal tree huggers. This County will never recover if the liberal majority take over the County Council.
Please get out and vote Republican
