Yup See this guy hanging around Giant all the time with several other homeless. I don't understand why all of them are allowed to loiter around Giant. You would figure the store would work to get rid of these guys from lingering around.
There but for the Grace of God lay you or I. We have made better choices in life and have no reason to sleep on the streets. This person is still a human and we do not know the circumstances that turned his life into this. Does it make you feel better to get on here and write crude remarks. Reading the comments I'm thinking some of these idiots will run over there, kick him around, bully him and laugh. It is sad - not funny,
Go talk to these people and find out where they are from. Most aren't from here. They are brought here to go into a local treatment program. When they mess up and get kicked out of the program, they aren't sent back where they came from. They are put out on our streets. Great job Peer connection for being responsible for adding this to our community!
I see this guy a lot sitting on the corner parking lot by the Harvest Baptist Church(Halo) on Eastern Shore Drive.
Yes Harvest Baptist Church and HALO are synonymous. They are a part of the problem as well because of their feel good programs. Like mentioned above these people aren't from around here however they are a drain on our precious resources.
In other cities they have a program when they have a run in with the law they are given a one way bus ticket to places like Salisbury. You don't believe me do your homework.
I believe that Salisbury should be offering one way bus tickets. It will be cheaper in the long run.
90% of homeless people suffer from mental illness. Most people living in shelters have grown up locally and have families who live within the same county. In the 1970's mental health asylums released patients into public mainstream society which greatly impacted and continues to impact our country's homeless population.
I would invite anyone who posts here to volunteer for a day or night at your local homeless shelter…You think you know- But you have no idea. Stupidity is usually reserved for the mentally able.
On my way to work this morning at 9ish. College Ln and Rt 13 on the corner of the new CVS. I saw the black homeless guy had pissed his pants and was having some sort of discussion with himself. It was sad.
So what do you do? There is always going to be a certain % of the population that will be homeless like this.
The "Bury" its as close to hell you can get.
ReplyDeleteIs this a street in Salisbury? Or a random photo?

You can blame Barrie Tilghman, Lore Chambers, Jim Ireton and ECI.
The first three are the ones that welcomed them with open arms.

And yes it is Salisbury's problem.
I pass this guy all the time and it seems as though he acts like he is pretty proud of where he lives. Almost a little cocky!
