Incident: Escape

Date of Incident: 2 September 2014

Location: 8000 block of Burnt Branch Rd., Salisbury, MD

Suspect: Markeeta Lateece Waters, 19, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 2 September 2014 at 12:00 PM a deputy located Markeeta Waters at her residence and took her into custody on an arrest warrant that charged her with escape. The warrant was issued back in July 2014 after Waters failed to report to the Detention Center to begin serving a sentence.  Upon arrest, the deputy transported Waters to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance,the Commissioner detained Waters in the Detention Center without bond.

Incident: Vandalism

Date of Incident: 2 September 2014

Location: 20300 block of Red Hill Lane, Nanticoke, MD

Suspect: Pending

Narrative: On 2 September 2014 at 12:13 PM the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into a vandalism that occurred at the Roaring Point Park in Nanticoke, MD. In this incident an unknown subject wrote a message on a “porta –potty” with overt disparaging racial and ethnic overtones.  The incident is being handled as a racially or ethnically motivated hate crime.  This incident is being actively investigated by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office at 410-548-4890 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776. Callers to Crime Solvers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward that leads to an arrest in this case.

Charges: Malicious Destruction of Property
