VA SUPERVISOR GETS SLAP ON WRIST AFTER PLEADING GUILTY To Stealing Up To $20,000 From VA To Renovate Her Home

Why is the mainstream media ignoring this story? Why are images of and information about Venita Godfrey-Scott, who admitted in court on May 14, 2014, that she stole up to $20,000 in funds from the VA unavailable to the public? She stole money that should have been used to care for the health needs of our U.S. Veterans and she's put on PROBATION? According to NBC Connecticut, the name of Venita Godfrey Scott's attorney is also unavailable. Is the super secret handling of this criminal case the norm for what should be considered a major news story?

Maybe Obama really didn't mean it when he said about the VA scandal: "If somebody's mismanaged or engaged in a misconduct...I want them punished."

A New Haven woman who admitting to stealing at least $15,000 worth of government property while working at the Veterans Affairs medical center in West Haven was sentenced to four years of probation Thursday.

Venita Godfrey-Scott, 48, who was a supervisor in the facilities management service at the facility, will serve the first six months of her probation in home confinement with electronic monitoring, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney for Connecticut Deirdre M. Daly. She was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Robert Chatigny to perform 120 hours of community service and pay $15,000 in restitution.

Godfrey-Scott faced up to 10 years in prison. She had no prior criminal convictions. Godfrey-Scott no longer works for the VA.

  1. It's pretty obvious in all of these cases that the perps have the goods on the higher ups who are doing the same thing, so nobody has to pay a price for fear of exposure of the whole criminal enterprise. In layman's terms-everybody has to cover everyone else's ass to cover their own ass.
