HS Students Told They Cannot Fly the American Flag on 9/11

On the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, four students at one South Carolina high school decided to fly American flags from their trucks.

The principal at Woodruff High School, however, confiscated the flags, saying it was against school policy for students to "draw an unusual amount of attention" to their vehicles, according to WSPA-TV.

The decision outraged parents and locals and sparked a protest at the school over the apparent zero-tolerance policy.

  2. I hope this is a joke. If not, the high school principle should be fired, then hung.

  3. How Un-American can this school system get. People need to fly a flag daily at their homes and on their vehicles if they so desire.

  4. Isn't there an American flag and a State flag flying at the school on their flagpoles?

If so, what; they need to take them down as well?

    WTF?

  5. If they had taken my flag, I would have called the cops and have them charge them with theft.

  6. If their school board is elected and not appointed, then the public should put enormous pressure on them to fire that principal to "teach him, or her, a lesson in patriotism" and Democracy and freedom of expression, I might add.

  8. It would be interesting to hear follow up on this. It is an outrage. Where is their right to free speech and their ability to support this country. We do live in the United States. This is wrong on so many levels?
