A Viewer Asks...

Tell me why this isn't racist and the Redskins logo is.

  1. Where's Michael Pretl and his pal Ron Pagano when we need them to right this outrageous wrong?

  2. Because this is a picture/ drawing of a Wicomico Indian. Wicomico was the name of the tribe.

And, the Redskins logo is not "racist", either. Neither is the term, Redskin.

  3. Because there is no racist name associated with this flag/emblem and because it is not being used for profit.

    Any other questions?

  4. I'm very offended by this logo. It must go!! Such disrespect!!

  5. It's not the logo they want removed, it's the NAME, genius. Wicomico County, MD IS MORE offensive, in its current sad state.

  6. Because one honors native american and the other honors native americans.

And that's about as much sense as the attack on free speech is.

  7. I was thinking of having a burgundy and gold shirt made that sayw "Why don't you change YOUR name".

  8. Because it does not say redskins. Is that so hard to understand?

  9. I thought Wicomico Indians were black.

  10. Only a few believe "redskins" is a racist name. You should let sleeping dogs lie. Now that you have brought it to public attention, some halfwit, (probably without a child in that school) will scream lawsuit and the county will have to pay a boatload of money for court cases and appeals, pay halfwits lawyers and other expenses and than pay the expense of replacing old logo with new logo. That is boocoo bucks.

  13. OH PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

  14. If you have to ask yourself this question then you don't know anyone with native American Heritage

  15. That's actually a picture of Injun Joe. After he appeared in Tom Sawyer, work was hard to find, so he became a male model. That Wicomico County thing was one of his first gigs.

  16. Wicomico County + Indian Logo = No Jobs

Plain and simple, it equates to handouts and poverty. Wicomico's main industry is panhandling. The areas homeless are living in modern day tents - whereas in the 1860's they were called Wigwams. Somethings just never change.

  17. 1:26 PM Thanks for info - I was unaware - but after today it will appear on Wikipedia - another piece of history saved.

  18. Would everyone just get off the racist bandwagon??!! PAAALEEEZE. Get over yourselves. Someone said if they would change the mascot to a "redskin potato", this issue would take care of itself. I like this because it pinpoints the idiocy of the whole issue.

Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His site. What more do we need???

Again; get over yourselves and leave the Indian names, logos, groups, etc. alone. Stop being so stupid. Period.

  22. Just like lee spend , spend. Keep asking the taxpayers to foot the bill. And he's already spent millions and so forth that the county council has no clue of. HHHH MMMM !

  23. More slander from the Mathias campaign!

  24. The "Redskin" name is not offensive. It's the association with Washington DC...lol. Change it to Maryland Redskins...oh wait, Maryland is also offensive to people...

Did he get the authority from the County Council on this logo change? This requires an act from the legislative body, not the County Executive. This is something that the County Council even forgets. Did it cost extra money to change all the new stickers?

This is something Joe Holloway needs to investigate.

This is true and it needs to be investigated.

Why don't you give us a clue? How about giving Joe the info so that we can make our legislatures investigate. I don't pay taxes for wasteful spending.

  30. It's not racist, because there's no money behind the logo. We're broke!
