ReplyDeletelet us know when the sheriff position opens up
ReplyDeletewow they require a high school diploma? since when? lol
ReplyDeleteI applied for this. Be prepared to be finger printed, photographed, be drug tested and polygraphed at the State Police Barracks. After going through all this, I told them they could keep the job. I treated like a criminal just for applying for a job with them.
ReplyDeleteAlso be prepared to have your neighbors, friends and relatives interviewed by the Sheriff's office. Be prepared for a full background criminal and credit check. Once you apply, you will be put in an FBI database after they finger print you and photograph you as a potential employee. Be prepared to answer for anything you may have said, done or thought about your entire life. I had to answer for a DUI that was over thirty years ago. The questions are very personal, and border on offensive for a civilian job. It's a shame, because I would have loved to have worked for them. As a former Police Dispatcher in my youth, I know I could have handled this job with no problem at all.
ReplyDeleteYour stupid Jeff ...Can't have criminals working their.
ReplyDeleteDoes this job also include a portion of the payoffs from the drug dealers, child molesters and other criminals to the Sheriff's office that allows them to operate un-molested in this county.
ReplyDeleteI started applying for the finance job and then quit after 45 minutes in to it, the online application is a joke, antiquated and cumbersome. Then I thought long and hard about it and clicked the x in the corner.
ReplyDeleteI am sure it is a great job for someone, but being in a building with a bunch of psychotic - criminals and gun toting wannabe's changed my mind.

ReplyDeleteYes I was stupid, because I didn't know what I was getting into. At for criminal, those who live in glass houses should not throw stones!
They put you thru all of the above as Jeff mentioned (which I really didn't mind) BUT just like the state they usually hire from within. Interns, family, friends, those in part time contractual position. So you waste time and money in the process.
ReplyDeleteThey hire from within always...
ReplyDelete9:32, OH NO THEY DON'T! Just ask ANY of the Deputies AND Military VETERANS on the Force.
