Russia troop increase at Ukraine border raises concerns

Donetsk, Ukraine (CNN) -- A new buildup of Russian troops along the Ukraine border raised concerns Tuesday that Moscow might be contemplating another intervention like the one that annexed Crimea earlier this year.

According to a NATO official, Russia now has about 20,000 troops stationed "in an area along the entire border with eastern Ukraine." The buildup nearly doubled the troop deployment in the last week by adding 8,000 more forces to 12,000 already there, the official said.

It comes a week after the United States and the European Union increased economic sanctions on Russia for supporting pro-Russian separatists fighting Ukraine government forces in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, along the border with Russia.

In addition, Russia's Defense Ministry is staging a week of military exercises involving air troops and anti-missile defense forces. The exercises are taking place in Russia's southern Astrakhan region, roughly 500 miles from the border with Ukraine.

  3. The elites keep wanting to tell us how important it is to have them and their ilk take over the Ukraine. All so they can continue to line their pockets. Just waiting for the day when they want our sons and daughters to pay the ultimate price so they can reap the rewards of raping another country! let Russia have it, didn't seem to be a problem for the last 60 years!

  4. What you are saying is what a lot (probably the majority) of Ukrainians are saying 8:47. US media doesn't show this. They don't want to be a part of the Globalists (the EU.) They prefer President Putin's 'we are exceptional, we are better' philosophy that he has created throughout Russia.
Americans are being lead to believe that anti Russian feelings exist overwhelmingly in Ukraine. Not true. Most see President Putin as a saviour. They do not want to go down the same route as many of the EU countries which is financial disaster like is going on in the US as well with high unemployment, no jobs available, low wages and country owning too much money, the deficit.

  5. Obama has already cut off their Netflix access, they better be afraid. Next he will sic his poodle on them. Or they might get a stern lecture from Dufus the secretary of state!

In other words there is nothing we can, will or even should do about it. The whole thing is a show by the NWO elite to keep the sheeple distracted from the internal destruction being done to this country by them and their puppet O. That is something we should be very concerned about.

  7. Raises concerns for everyone except our POS president. He's, no doubt, contemplating his next golf outing.
