The Salisbury Fire Department will be opening our fire stations to the public for an Annual Open House in recognition of the 142nd Anniversary of the Salisbury Fire Department. The open house will be on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Station 1 at 1100 Beaglin Park Drive, Station 2 at 801 Brown Street, and Station 16 at 325 Cypress Street will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm.
“We encourage residents to get an up-close look at their neighborhood fire stations,” says Fire Chief Richard A. Hoppes with the SFD. “We are a staple in the community, and this is a good way to connect City of Salisbury and Wicomico County residents with their local firefighters and emergency medical technicians.”
At the open houses, the public is invited to come out and talk with members of their fire department, meet Sparky the Fire Dog, get a Station Tour and receive a free blood pressure check. There will be free face painting, a moon bounce, a fire prevention trailer, and a dunking booth. Refreshments will be provided by the Ladies Auxiliary at Station 16.
There will be interactive events every hour, on the hour, from 10am to 4pm including; Auto Rescue, High Rise Demo, Fire Extinguisher class, Rappelling Demo, Cut the Roof, and a Layperson CPR class.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter or EMS associate, stop by and let us know who you are.
The public is encouraged to go to the Salisbury Fire Department’s website, www.salisburyfd.com for more information or contact the SFD at 410-548-3120.

Here's a chance for the paid firemen to resign and get a real job.
This is only an attempt for the public to complain that they want their paid firemen because a fat fire chief says so.

I challenge you to get a real job. Shame on you for calling a tax payer a wuss. You paid firemen have ruined this department. Rick Hoppes and John Tull included.
This is not a true Recruitment and Retention Campaign. Don't let this fool you.
ReplyDeleteI WANT TO SEE CHIEF HOPELESS DOING THE SCBA MAZE AND RAPELLING FROM PRMC ROOF.
