No Joke: Florida City Makes It Illegal to Wear Your Pants Too Low

Do we really need to make this illegal?

A city in Florida passed an ordinance “prohibiting pants more than two inches below the waistline,” according to Fox News’ Orlando affiliate. Those who keep their pants slung a little too low face a “penalty of up to a $500 fine or up to 60 days in jail.”

“We are tired of seeing young men of all descriptions, white, blue, green, black and orange walking around with their pants down and their underwear showing,” said Ocala, Fla., City Council member Mary Rich.

  1. I have no problem making it illegal. It is very disrespectful and is disgusting. These thugs always have their hands in their pants or on their package and then they handle things that normal people have to touch.

  2. Yes, we do need to make it a law. Since most of these thugs have no common sense whatsoever, we have to try and legislate it into them.

It is unfortunate, because there are so many other important issues that need attention.

  4. The good thing about them wearing sagging pants is they can't run very well trying to pull the pants up and hold them up.

  5. yes; it's obvious a law is needed when you have ignorant, low life, stupid young men who can't keep their pants up.

  7. Wicomico County needs to adopt that policy and inforce it. Maybe that would keep the police busier.

  8. Why do they even wear the pants? If they want to show their underwear, just wear the underwear. Maybe with tights underneath. That would be a good look.

  12. They seem to be getting lower and lower. When the trend first started it was just the band of the underwear that would be seen. Now they wear the pants below their behinds. I don't see how that is even comfortable.
