  1. Keep your children away from Ocean City Maryland. The knock out game is in force now as well. Pole dancer and stabbings.... nice family resort.

  2. Yea but the city is raking in the money. Gambling, drugs ect. All family stuff.

  3. I don't care what you say, this is scary. We have kids that travel long distances to enjoy Ocean City, (almost weekly) and I have to say I am personally scared for their safety.

I can tell you, the "Knock Out Game" is also a serious problem in Ocean City. Bouncers are getting POINTS nation wide for this barbaric game and it must be stopped.

Judges need to become extremely aware of this problem and start throwing BOUNCERS in Jail for participating. It's not just the general public pulling this crap.

As for the young man in this article, let's hope justice is done and his murderer is found. Ocean City is truly getting out of control and is no longer considered anything close to safe or family friendly.

  4. Not to mention the recent touting of Worcester County as such a great place to live.

  6. 9:08 - Worcester County is a great place to live...
with the exception of Ocean City.

  7. Let the countdown begin....two more weeks until they are gone

  8. As the Dems like to say,"this is progress."

  9. This reminds me of Atlantic City just before they had to put bars on all the vacation hotels.

This is the place Jim Mathias sticks up for in Annapolis constantly. Everyone knows the World revolves around O.C. and we`re just in the way. Vote accordingly in November.

  11. 12:48 That's because Mathias is mainly convened with pleasing the OC business owners that contribute to his campaign funds. Mathias is becoming more and more selfish as he grows older and older.

  12. Easy, everybody... Relax. (And with all due respect, you too, Joe)
One.... I emphasize - just ONE high crime in Ocean City.
The last one I remember is the Sifrits' case about 15 years ago.
PLEASE look at the crime stats in ANY city in the nation that has over 300,000 people on any given night. Compare them.
This is not an Ocean City problem - it's a SOCIETY problem.
If you're looking for a place with the population compares to OC where this sort of bad behavior does not ever happen or exist - and you've found it - please let me know.

  13. Ocean City in the summer is simply the magical shift of the geogrpical location of the greater Baltimore - Washington area!

  14. It is too late for voting to change a thing. If voting were honest...Joe would have been in office. The votes are rigged people. This is a planned, designed and regulated society we live in and it is coming unraveled by the day.

  15. Nice try 5:02. OC is the new "Sin City" and you know it, so don't try to talk it up as if it was a family-friendly resort as it was 20+ years ago. It's primarily a party town.

  16. This is very interesting. What information do we have that the knockout game is going on, either by the new type of tourists or bouncers? Not that I doubt anyone, but I live in OC and haven't heard anything about it (even though I follow this blog daily). Thanks in advance.

  17. 6:35, the Bars and their Lawyers are keeping it from going public.

AMERICA is the new "Sin City".
Is anything in this country the same it was 20 years ago? Absolutely not.
Ten years ago we went to the Outer Banks for our vacation, sharing a house with four other families with kids. No crime. Never.
Starting about five years ago they had a stream of break-ins, burglaries and robberies that have continued until today.
The percentage of crime in the Outer Banks far exceeds that of the equivalent population in OC.
Three of the families decided to come back to OC for their vacation.
Again: It's SOCIETY. Not the location.

  19. Why don't we reserve judgment till the police release more info? For all we know (and assuming it's a homicide), the man was killed by someone he knew.

  20. Joe, I haven't heard about this "Knockout Game" being in OC. Is it mostly happening at bars at night? Or at random places? I've read about the "Knockout Game" online, how do they chose who to target?

  21. This is very sad. A great person taken away too soon. I hope justice is served.

  22. Let's not use the term bouncers. Security and bouncers at bars help stop chaos

  23. Nothing is wrong with OC it the tourist that come here and give us a bad name your afraid for you children's safety yet it's your children causing the problem with the knock out game the drugs the partying etc... So don't blame the town and locals any place like ocean city is usually worse and the one death/ possible murder that's the first in many many years unlike smaller areas and more popular areas which this happens every night one bad thing happens in a popular great area and you opinion Nazi's come out

    ReplyDelete
  24. I live in O C year round when it's the off season we dont have these issues only when we have tourist. So don't blame the city. It's who is coming to the city not who lives here or works here that take care of you while you are here.

  25. 502- finally somebody gets it. relax people, crime for a city this size should be much higher. 1 murder, if in fact this a murder every several years is not a big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  26. 7:14 Joe.... you are right on the mark. There is a group of area business men that manage to keep the wraps on this crime. Bar owners need security and security need to be tough and feared. It is a win/win situation. Business owners accept this as the cost of doing business.

  27. My area is secure....August 17, 2014 at 5:17 PM

I work Security for the Home Owner's association down town....If things appear abnormal...I contact communications at 410-723-6610....The Calvary-OCPD comes in and capture the bad guys....or girls depending on the situation....OCPD is a great asset....

  28. You guys are acting like the crime rate is perfect in Ocean city...their is always gonna be crime every where you go that's just the world we live in..ocean city is still one of the best resort areas on the east coast especially with all of the entertainment in the summer time smh

    ReplyDelete
  29. Also compare oc's crime rate based on population to lets say Miami, or atlantic city . Im sure we have less . Our biggest problem is drunk people and yea your gonna have that in a resort vacation spot , people go on vacation and drink , you dont like.it go to Alaska or something
