A mansion in Queenstown that was originally built for the son of the famed Chef Boyardee is going up for auction to the highest bidder.
The estate was built in 1989 on an 18-acre peninsula on Wye Narrows Drive on the Wye River in Queen Anne's County and will be sold during auction on July 19.
The 22,600-square-foot Georgian-style home overlooks more than 2,000 feet of shoreline in DeCoursey Cove, according to auction officials.

ReplyDeleteGoes to show you the rich have poor taste in decor. The interior is rather ugly
ReplyDeleteThe son Mario (now deceased)and wife Maureen Boiardi sold this house years ago and bought another in the area. As far as I know Maureen still lives there. This house has been owned by the a former CEO of Nextel for years. I don't think there is anything wrong with the "décor." Rather plain and not overdone as if obviously decorated. The truly wealthy are rather frugal and really don't care about trying to outdo their contemporaries. That's more the actions of the nouveau riche who can become quite tacky in their décor, buying all the trendy items from Pier One and the like.
ReplyDeleteI think the interior is absolutely beautiful. I wonder what the interior looks like in you mansion in da 'Bury.
ReplyDeleteWhen the wealthy are loosing their homes and they are still trying to convince us that things are improving I think everyone needs to be discussing something other than the decor. Who cares.
ReplyDelete5:53-No one is losing their home in this case. It is not a foreclosure. The home has been for sale for awhile now, without selling, so they are trying the auction route. According to mdlandrec no money has been owed on it since 1992.
