  6. There's also another new restaurant in the old Ward's building and another pharmacy just south of the Univ. What do these people know that I don't about the economy?

  7. I can honestly say that I have witnessed a huge decline Arby's, Wendy's, Five Guys, Pats, Salad Works, Jersey Mikes since The Cook Out opened. Just take a look at their parking lots. The Cook Out is packed and all of the others are empty.

  8. Cook out operates completely different from all those other fast food joints. Check them out.

  9. Every time a new restaurant opens it's packed. Just trying something new. Been here for 40 years , same thing with all new places .

They had a guy out in the parking lot last Monday when I went there and he was directing traffic. It was packed on a week night, but they moved pretty quickly.

You are correct. Happens all the time. Like someone said look at 5 Guys now. I don't know how some of these restaurants will stay open.

  16. There seems to be a lot of minorities working there. Is it a minority owned business?

  18. I stopped in recently at Cook Out and must admit they have the BEST milkshakes around town! And the prices are reasonable. They are so busy right now that they have traffic control out front and last week when I went by I could not even find a place to park they are that busy. They have some of their staff from North Carolina and Virginia helping get it going and you can tell a big difference from them vs. the local workers....extra friendly, smiling and eager to help whereas it seems a lot of the locals are too busy texting and checking their cell phones.

  19. That is hilarious! I went to this place..the food really is good, it was the menu that disappointed me. I personally have never been to a cook out with fries, onion rings and hush puppies..more like corn on the cob, bake beans and covered dishes. What I had was very good though.

  20. I wonder how long they will all stay empty. I have noticed it to. There is no one attending any of the other fast food outlets.

  21. Not for long...2:15 is right on the money. Just wait a month all will be back to normal!!!

  22. they will be full clone the end of august when the college kiddies come to town.

  23. 4:23 I moved to North Carolina last year and I was amazed at how friendly the workers in the stores are. Almost any store you walk into the staff will say hi and ask you how you are. The Shore used to be that way 20-30 years ago.

  24. Thank you. 333! Maybe in 4 hours, or we'll have to order a Dr. Pepper!

  25. Let me tell you... you can NOT beat this place!!!

Where can you get a Cajun Chicken sandwich, hush puppies, cole slaw, and a thick real fruit milkshake for $6.35 --- NO WHERE except Cook-Out!!!!

Try it and you will be hooked!!! Beware McDonalds... if this place served breakfast you would be in BIG Trouble!!!!

  26. Sonic sucks with service and they are extremely slow. Love CookOut except their pull pork sandwich.

  27. Great place and everything is cooked to order. They came from the South and are so friendly there makes you want to go back again and again.

  28. I don't know. I've heard their prices and food are really good. Especially compared to other fast food.

  29. Great new oriental restaurant -- where the old one that closed was located at the Twilley Center -- it's really good.
