Fruitland National Night Out

31st Annual National Night Out;

The Fruitland Police department would like to welcome the community to

National Night Out (NNO) on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. The city of Fruitland will be hosting the event at the pavilion located on S. Brown Street.

NNO 2013 involved over 37.8 million people in 16,242 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. National Night Out 2014 is expected to be the largest ever. National Night Out is designed to: (1) heighten crime prevention awareness, (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and (4) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Along with the traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, most cities and towns celebrate National Night Out with a variety of special citywide and neighborhood events. The city of Fruitland will once again be hosting their community cookout with food, games and prizes. National Project Coordinator, Matt Peskin said, “This is a night for America to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight for a safer nation. On NNO, we invite neighborhoods nationwide to join us and “give crime a going away party”.

Please come out and enjoy a free night of food and fun!!!!!

  4. Speaking of the Chief hopefully when the Fruitland PD pulls over the many Somerset County Deputies who are constantly speeding through Fruitland they will remember the professional courtesy. Oh yeah and especially don't forget Ronnie Howard who constantly flies through Fruitland on Rt. 13 all the time. Wink Wink.

  5. With Sheriff Jones not running for re-election I guess they decided to start obeying the laws themselves.

  6. Ronnie Howard would get my vote but he is a Democrat and all the corruption of the Somerset County Sheriff's Office follows under his watch as the Chief Deputy. He is just as guilty as Sheriff Jones.

  7. Is Mike Philips bringing the booze? I talked with one of the Fruitland Council-persons Wendsday and they said Big Mike was being rail-roaded. Big John Psota is doing all he can to squash the proceedings so the people of Fruitland can enjoy Un-biased law enforcement.

  8. Sheriff Jones? You call that rube a Sheriff? Him and Howard are the reason the S.C.S.D is the biggest law enforcement joke on the Shore! That`s why when you see em their all in a line. Only one of them knows the way back to the barn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Wow. I came on here to read up on a nice event for my kids and read one mean post after another. Maybe you can spend some time doing something positive for our community instead of bashing people. Just a thought....
