The more noses the better. Whenever there is an "event", everyone wants to be included. These K9's rarely get to do anything but ride around in the back of car. Most K9's are trained for either narcotic detection or bomb detection. There are some cross trained K9's out there.
If the bed and breakfast places in Newtowne (that WBOC did a segment on) had been in business like Jake Day wants, everyone would have had a place to go while all cleared.
Wicomico dogs only sniff out nude bombs and stink bombs. Salisbury dogs only sniff out F- bombs. Since Somerset's dogs sniff out beer bombs and dynamite, and Worcester's do black powder and pressure cookers, we had to be sure, 3:46.
I am 3:46 poster, I understand everyone wanting in to get the dogs some sniffing time, that is a valid reason, I notice Wicomico only has 1 bomb sniffing dog at the moment(do we need more?).
I have always wondered this, are the dogs/handlers shared between counties on a no charge basis? For instance this time around would Dor. and Wor. county bill Wicomico?
Why were dogs from other counties brought in? Does the 8 dogs that Wicomico has not do bombs?
