More racial violence and denial in Philly… Again.

  1. It's not a problem of "racial violence". It's violence, period. Talk to anyone (my wife included) who grew up in philly. You'll hear plenty of stories of how kids and young adults face the danger of being assaulted on the daily in many areas of the city, regardless of race. A black kid walking to school is just as likely to be assaulted in north philly by a group of black kids as they are likely to be jumped by rowdy white kids in fishtown. We hear of more "black on white" assaults largely due to gentrification and the mixing of "the hood" with more well to do populations. The expansion of Temple University into the ghettos of north philly is a prime example. Also note that philly has a BLACK mayor and BLACK police chief that have taken a very aggressive stance against crime, including the use of heavy-handed police measures that had the ACLU and other folks all up in arms. Mayor Nutter has been very outspoken about the problem of group assaults. Young dummies convicted of these crimes have received some of the harshest punishments available on the books; I know a 12 yr old serving juvie life and his teenage accomplices are sitting in adult prison right now for playing the "knockout game". The Mayor and police are also working with citizens' groups, largely composed of black philadelphians, to curtail crime. While its easy to jump on the "race" bandwagon, how about we all take time to dig deeper into the issue with the hope of finding a solution, instead of sticking to convenient narratives that simply tear us apart.

  2. Blah, blah, blah. Just a bunch of thugs whose parents had no reason to raise kids. Lesson, stay away from Philly.

The problem is that the MSM doesn't cover it.
That tells me this it's a racial issue , black on white , like it or not butt head.
The so called "N" word will be used a lot in the future.
