Seaford -- The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announced today, that maintenance on the Woodland Ferry is complete, and it has passed the U.S. Coast Guard inspection necessary for its return to full service. The ferry was returned to service on Sunday, May 18, 2014.
As a reminder, during periods of excessively high and low tides, the ferry will not conduct crossings. Tides at the Woodland Ferry crossing on the Nanticoke River can vary by as much as four feet at certain times of the year.
If one stands on the Laurel side of the river at Woodland ferry the view of the other side would make a good painting.Or a good photograph.
