(Salisbury, MD), (5/16/14), 2014. The Salisbury Fire Department will be holding a Swearing-In Ceremony for Members of the Salisbury Fire Department. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Salisbury Fire Department Headquarters, located at 325 Cypress Street, Salisbury, Maryland.
During this ceremony, members will receive the “Oath of Office”. Members of the Salisbury Fire Department, as well as members from the Sharptown, Fruitland and Berlin Fire Departments, will be recognized for their successful completion of the Salisbury Fire Department’s Academy Recruit Firefighter I class #01-14.
This ceremony was created to have family members, friends and citizens participate in one of the most memorable events in a Firefighters career.

It will be followed by a small parade of firetrucks headed to dinner.

I would like to see line item purchases from the fire department. I heard a bunch of firefighters went to a conference in Indiana last month that cost the tax payers thousands of dollars. I heard they even got a daily per diem to spend in the bars as they pleased.

ReplyDeleteMFRI at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore does not charge firefighters for classes. For the Salisbury Fire Department to pay for instructors is absolutely ridiculous.

Jealous? lol. Jealous of what exactly? Who do you think is spineless, and why? Same goes for clueless.
The public media generated hate thing is false. Unless you think all the abuses that are reported are not true. Which would be a huge leap.
The 'hate' you speak of is indeed real, but it is from actions of those whom the hate is directed towards.
If those types did not do anything to warrant such 'hate' most of it would never be.
If you are indeed one of these people, you should be fired immediately.
MFRI is paid for by the tag fee every time you register and reregister any vehicle. MFRI is free of charge to all firefighters and any class they take is free. The City of Salisbury tax payers should not be paying anyone to teach any class. This is ridiculous and an abuse of power by Rick Hoppes. This is also a dereliction of his duties and he should be relieved immediately.

Rick Hoppes should have never been appointed Fire Chief so you know they won't fire this clown immediately.
