Experience ‘Pemberton Park After Dark’ on June 13

Salisbury, Md. – Gather your friends and family for an adventure at Pemberton Park - After Dark on Friday, June 13. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a finger lickin' good chuck wagon meal. Dessert will be packed up "hobo" style before venturing out for a hike in the woods. During the hike, look and listen for fox, coyote and flying squirrels as they are lured in with electronic devices and learn to identify a variety of frogs by their calls. The evening will conclude with a bonfire where participants will enjoy music, dessert and roasting marshmallows. Participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight and chair.

Pemberton Park is comprised of 262 acres of forest, field and wetland habitats and 4.5 miles of nature trails located at 5561 Plantation Lane in Salisbury.

The registration fee is $39.95 per person. Registration is available online at www.WicomicoRecandParks.org and at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box Office (M-F, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.). For more information, contact Karen McInturff at 410-548-4900 x108 or email kmcinturff@wicomicocounty.org.

  2. Are there really that many people so disconnected from nature in an agricultural rural county that they will pay $40/person to walk around in the woods at night?

  3. 39.95...Mackes must have had another line of credit called in by PNC

I will wait to see Rick Pollitt leaving the GOB after the elections.

  5. Only a fool would pay $40 to hang out at an out door place to do nothing. Live music big deal. Why not say what it is Gary because I am sure your taste of music isn't what I want to hear.

This man has to go. We need good Republicans to get rid of Gary Mackes.

  7. 10:14 - you would be horrified the number of children in Salisbury who have never even been to the beach.

  8. 6:09 AM - And to a number of those children you are talking about $39.95 is really steep price to pay to do anything like this. Price = Ridiculous!

  9. You would much luck if you had mackes show up with the $150k salary in dollar bills and spread them throughout the forest. At least you would get a better return on the admission charge than the job he does daily. Or maybe have a all night softball tourney using glow balls to generate the extra "loss" they say they need to recover?

Horrified? are you serious? regardless, the kids are better off NOT going to the beach considering what types of people are there. if you feel that bad, or even horrified, lol, gather them up and take those kids to the beach in the off season. less punks and tourons.
