This was nice. As the family member of a police officer who was killed (many years ago) I can tell you unequivocally that the family appreciates it beyond words that fellow firefighters would travel so far to pay their last respects.
It's nice they attended but why the news release /photo op to make it about them. If they went as a nice gesture, great, if they went so they could make it about them, bad

I think you are on to something. I think most paid firemen are like that. I wonder who paid for the trip. I wonder whose vehicle they drove? I wonder if they used there on time or were they granted time?
here we go again always one ass in the crowd 3 54 who cares how they got there. shows a sign of respect if it was a member of your family that died i bet you would not be worrying how people got to the funeral. get a life or go get a job
