    My grandmother had a secret method of killing spiders.we all had to swear an oath that we would not tell anyone,but now that she's dead here goes:she would go to the grocery store and buy a can of Raid.

    A CUP of pepper? Maybe they mean a cup of pepper sauce, like Tabasco? Ground pepper wouldn't make it through a spray nozzle.

    This is a natural alternative. Raid is a toxic pesticide that some people don't want in their home around their pets & children. That's the difference!

    I prefer my hand, a shoe, or a shotgun. All are super effective.

    Bug lights are also a remedy --without bugs migrating to the porchlight--there is nothing for the spiders to eat so they go elsewhere
