IS WICOMICO COUNTY GOING TO HAVE A MAJOR TAX INCREASE?

Well, when you pay a PIO Officer $60,000.00 a YEAR to make sure the PUBLIC is well aware of ANY such mentioned public information, you'd think you'd know about the BIG MEETING set for tomorrow night, but you DON'T. The County Executive will be holding the BIG ANNUAL BUDGET meeting where he will introduce an incredible tax increase on the taxpayers but he's keeping it on the down low so NO ONE shows up.

Did you read about it in today's Daily Times??? Did you see it announced anywhere else??? Yet one of the biggest meetings of the year is being hushed up, how convenient. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING published on the County Website about this meeting.

Well no longer. Ladies & Gentlemen, it will be located at the Civic Center at 6:00 PM tomorrow night in the Flanders Room.
On another note. We're told this vehicle, (above) has recently been spotted at Andy's Place. We're also told a gentleman fitting the description of the person driving this vehicle was in Backstreet Monday night complaining to the Manager about a message that was written in the men's room that stated, (so I'm told) No more Rick Pollitt and the Mayor is gay.

Mind you, childish and petty for ANYONE to write ANYTHING on ANY bathroom wall but I guess when you are in a position of power you can force such said manager to immediately paint over such a message or you might lose all of the Board of Ed money and so forth.

Don't miss tomorrow nights meeting at the Civic Center Folks. It's a BIG one and they do NOT want anyone to turn out. TAKE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS BEFORE YOU GO.

    You've been blogged!

  2. There's now a "transparency portal" on the County's website --- what a bad joke!

  3. Will "tax to the max" Rick be speaking or is he making Wayne to the dirty work?

    ReplyDelete
  4. yes, the county is going to have to have a tax increase unless the asses who voted for everything that increases the spending plan on paying for it themselves and that won't happen because none of them have a pot to piss in themselves because they are borrowed out to the hilt.

  5. Frederickson also sent out a voicemail concerning their boe budget and his case for more money at the budget meeting.

  6. Worrying about what's written on a bathroom wall. What a freak. A huge portion of the county and city looks like a shithouse and this imbecile's worried about a little bit of wording on a bathroom wall that happens to be true.

  7. Nothing will happen except a tax increase I bet you! People are all talk and no action and Rick always gets his way GET OVER IT!

  8. I believe the Board of Education did a robo-call to all PTA parents to turn out for education support purposes.

I don't know if Fredrickson knows what's going on in his house.

You may want to verify this comment with others.

  9. its for the children, don't you all remember?

  10. Yes 3:10 it was a robocall.
I'm sure they will have as many people from teachers to boe people to voice their support for a tax increase to try to sniffle any opposition to their plans. I for one plan to be there. I can't afford these increases in taxes and fees. Delaware did this, we need to do this as well. Incomes are going down and jobs are few and far between. Enough is enough!

  11. Maybe the Council will have the stones to cut the pay for Pollitt's PIO -- is it still Fineran?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Is that an increased tax so they can pay back what they owe the City of Salisbury? That is what they should be doing. I want our 10 million!

  13. I hope so, I have an extra $ 1.37
    that I will give.

  15. Fineran retired, so he now gets a pension from the County, just like Ricky will starting later this year!

  16. It's more like a PTA meeting than a serious budget discussion, and Pollitt wants it like that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Just looked on the County's website -- it's still not announced there, but I did see a pic of Pollitt with a big s-eating smirk!

    ReplyDelete
  18. and they wonder why some people turn postal!

  19. Bend over taxpayers!! Like it or not, it's coming!

  20. I just checked the County's website and I see where it says the budget has to be submitted to the CC by the 3rd Tuesday of April, but I do not see it advertised anywhere. What gives?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I simply will not pay, just like this past year. There's loopholes for everything.

Regarding the bathroom art... maybe Wayne should spend less time DRINKING and DRIVING in a COUNTY VEHICLE, and he wouldn't notice such things. And, if you say he doesn't drink... you're either Wayne, himself, or a LIAR.

  22. What if all county residence withhold payment???

    ReplyDelete
  23. One would think that with a County Budget that the event would be advertised in practically every major distribution periodical. I just looked at the County website and I can't find it either.

  24. People forget so quickly that O'Malley robbed the teacher pension fund ($200M?) and passed that debt to the Counties. There are 2 ways to think of this. Either the County will be really fund strapped with the fund shortage or they too use this opportunity to have a fund of their own to rob just like the State does every year. Either way, it doesn't bode well.

  25. You better go to this meeting because I can tell you that Pollitt is planning on raising taxes to the MAXIMUM AGAIN this year.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I vote for getting rid of the pension. County and State funded pensions can no longer be afforded

  27. For Sale: Waterfront property 300' of waterfront, 5 acres subdivided into 2 lots. One lot perc'd and other with existing farmhouse <100 feet from water.

  28. HOW MANY COUNTY CARS ARE TAKEN HOME BY EMPLOYEES--AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE? I'VE ASKED THIS SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO REPLY

    ReplyDelete
  29. Most of the shore will be too drunk by 6pm to attend a meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Nothing will change because freeloading Democrats will continue to vote for Democrats. They would be stupid to not vote for any person who will allow them to stay home on their ass and make 35,000 in welfare.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Montgomico county? Prince Georgico county? What should our new name be?)

    ReplyDelete
  32. To 4:48 - Add to that another 200 million in FY 2015 - so that's over 400 million dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  33. RE 4:54. Regarding getting rid of State pensions; First, remember that ALL State Employees pay 7% of their gross pay into the retirement system. Also, Gov. Owemalley has siphoned off $1.1 BILLION of the State employees retirement fund and transferred it to the general fund to balance the budget. Additionally he has hijacked 25% of the State Union dues each employee MUST pay and transferred those dollars to the general fund too.
Don't forget he also drained the Transportation fund which is why the roads are pathetic. Owemalley and his puppy Lt. Gov. Brown the Clown are the enemies, not the State or Local employees.

    ReplyDelete
  34. So much for Transparency. I can't find it either on the County's website.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 4:54 you hit the nail right on the head! People should be responsible for their owe retirement! Pensions are a thing of the past. They need to be terminated!

    ReplyDelete
  36. 5:46 must not have a pension…lol

  37. No wonder people are leaving. Taxed to the max! If i can wait for another 1.5 yrs I am out of here. South bound I am. I have told my family this. living off one small paycheck i can't make ends meet for 3 people. Jobs here don't pay much at all. Delmarva Power has put in these new meters and my electric bill has gone up 3x's as much as I was paying a year ago. I have done away with internet, land line phone, cable t.v. and still can't make ends meet. Maryland in general is a joke not just Wicomico Co.

    ReplyDelete
  38. All Democrats are either ignorant or liars.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Pollitt's campaign slogan should be "Tax to the Max!"

    ReplyDelete
  40. I agree people should be responsible for their own retirement and pensions are becoming a thing of the past because politicians are raiding them. The problem we have though, is a lot these people who rely or will rely on a pension aren't too bright. They don't even know who is overseeing the funds, who the trustees are and how the funds are being invested. These people are clearly not capable of taking care of this matter on their own. This has caused the politicians to take advantage of their stupidity and the funds are stolen or like in the case of the teachers, shifted to already cash short local governments.

  41. Remember the county will now pay $100,000.00 per year every year to bring in trash from other states. Oh yea we forgot about that. Hey Joe dig deeper into the plans for trash. Big plans big price tag

    ReplyDelete
  42. 6:35
I agree to a point but take a look at some of our elected officials that are recieving one or more pension while continuing to work toward yet another pension. Personally, I am only entitled to one pension, but have used those funds to invest in other investments because I was fisically responsible and had no debt when I retired.

  43. Typical example of waste. $60,000 for a Public Information Officer, who provides no Public Information.

What's in her job description, anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  44. The PIO's job is to make Pollitt look for the election. Wicomico's problem is poor management watch the county trucks or tractors setting around they don't leave the barn until 9 am and are back by 3 pm

  46. Mr albero:
Thank you again and again for keeping us up to date with the liberal sneakies in wicomico.this liberal executive type of govt is the biggest waste there is.As far as the p.i.o. thats a waste but the real scary waste is politts 3rd in command sharon morris what a overpaid 3rd rate clerk she is.

  47. I should add, you people have to pay for all those pay raises Pollitt and Prettyman just slammed you with.

  48. Bottom Line. BE AT THE MEETING. This is urgent. The truth must come out and these crooks must be exposed. They are deceptive and devious at best. BE THERE and take a friend or neighbor.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Guess what, you aren't going to get off your lazy a$$ to go to some meeting you know you can't do anything about.

    ReplyDelete
  50. If Wayne has to attend, that could hurt business at the Back Street Grill -- especially at the bar.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Who is running the county anyway? Wayne Strausburg or Rick Pollitt? I think Wayne walked all over Ricky and he is to stupid to know it. Oh well stupid is as stupid does.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Still nothing about this event on the County or the Daily Times websites.

  53. Yet knumbskull voters will continue to vote for democrats because they get free ship.

  54. Tax increase without pairing down the waste is unacceptable $150K of tax payer paid for Pizza at the Board of Education is just a starting point..

any Catered meals should go out on public bid with menu posted for all to see for anything that happens in Gov't..

Cars parked at the end of the day.. and not used for personal activities is another..

County Rec and it's bloated Administration Staff --make it a contracted service.. what does it take to make sure the fields are fertilized cut and trash emptied? a team of 8 administrators plus the Civic Center staff?

I say we open up this forum to producing a laundry list of demands that must be addressed before the Council even can take a vote --or they will be recalled and the Council revamped--it's time they become accountable..

  55. I WAS OVER ON HARMON FIELD THIS WEEKEND AND THE INFIELD IS SO HARD YOU CAN ROLLERSKATE ON IT.MAYBE THE NEW SKATEPARK CAN BE THERE.NO MONEY NEEDED FOR CONCRETE.

  56. Look at sheriff office all that top brass and income, could pair down and save $200,000 and detention center has two deputy directors another $75,000 savings, go through GOB, bet you could another $100,000 just watch who's standing out smoking all the time rather then working. I bet each department has one or more that could be trimmed down, probably another $200,000 easy. That's well over $600,000 if not more. No take home cars, no catered lunches and no pay raises could easily reach a savings with previous cuts of over $1,000,000 per year.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well WiCo members won't get a COLA increase this year. So there are those savings

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes 7:40 but a few of the crownes got a raise thanks to prettyman.
