    1. Let's see it's a state trooper helo with a paramedic on it as well. The suspect ran off into the woods. There are hundreds of acres of woods near the area and the MSP help has a flir system which can pick up the suspect through the woods. Yes this would be a perfect time to use the helo. After all our state tax dollars pay for it to be staffed 24hrs a day.

Oh I'm not sure if you know it or not but Maryland is one of the only states that uses the MSP helo to transport people to hospitals. Because of this if you are a MD resident that transport is FREE. If you lived in another state you would pay $15,000-30,000 for that transport. So how about you stop you little negitive nancy mentality.

  5. I was told by a neighbor the cops picked him up

  6. If you lived down here, you'd know why they used helicopters, plus, if it's who they say it is, he has a long long long rap sheet of bad stuff......certainly one to go after full force

  7. Im home with a 6 month old not even a half a mile from here...YES WE NEED TO USE HELICOPTERS FOR STUFF LIKE THIS.

  8. They got him at shad point and Camden, so he ran pretty far

  9. Why were they circling over by Pemberton?

  10. How do you know 9:13

  11. There is no Shad Point Rd and Camden, there is a Shad Point& Riverside or a West Main St and Camden in Fruitland, Hope the former post is correct and they got the suspect

  12. We have no confirmation the suspect has been apprehended.

  13. Ok they caught him in the Siloam rd woods vicinity but he was seen in the police car at Camden and shad point rd. his grandfather lives on campground road which he has robbed before. It's unsure who he tried to rob, but he was chased by a resident of Siloam rd. this is confirmed from local sources.

  15. Sorry I used shad and Camden, I was trying to quickly post info as it came from the locals who have police friends and that is what I got and repeated verbatim quickly, it was Camden and main st where police were seen with suspect and several police cars by a neighbor who happened to be in the vicinity and have contacts. We all know news comes in quickly and may not be 110% precise but it's all good intentions to get info and updates out quickly

  16. Can we get an official update? My husband leaves for work soon and I'll be home alone with kids. Not feeling too secure.

  17. 9:48, We are trying to get that confirmation but there's been NOTHING released, (once again) from law enforcement about anything even happening at all.

One reason we created Salisbury news was to keep the public informed in REAL TIME. You would think that since we are the only news source that ever seems to truly break just about any important story they'd have someone contact us to keep you updated.

Until the community reaches out the Barbara Duncan or Mike Lewis asking that they do get us up to speed right away it will certainly change for the better. IF they refuse, they clearly don't give a crap about the public and even more obvious, your safety.

  19. I checked the MSP Salisbury site. They have no active alerts for the area. How is that possible if they're searching by helicopter?

  21. How embarrassing.....we get phone alerts when there's a snow storm on our phones and not one flicking word about a guy that tried to jack someone up! WTH!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Note at this time, I checked ALL news sources and NOTHING has been published about this event.

I also checked SPD, MSP & WCSO and NOTHING has been published there as well.

  23. We need to raise H and petition

  24. Thanks Joe for keeping us informed.

  25. To those of you who still feel that a leo is your friend this should speak volumes.

  26. 9:25 - so if it's free (tax payers dollars) it's automatically a good thing huh? I certainly don't agree with that. I think it's crazy to pay people 24 hours a day to sit around and do nothing and wait for something to happen. Liberals think anything the government provides is free but in reality we are paying dearly for it.

    1. By this statement you think that we shouldn't pay paramedics? Or police officers? Or ER doctors, trauma surgeons? After all these people get paid to wait until something happens.

Yes our tax dollars pay for it but when you need it you'll be damn glad that they do.

So you must be one of those that thinks that all this should be done voluntarily. I am a paramedic. So you expect me to have gone through 2500 college instruction hours along with having to do another 1000 field and hospital clinical hours as well as $10,000-$15,000 in tuition costs and you expect me to provide my services and expertise for free?

Let me ask you, would you do your job for free, do you expect teachers, nurses, social workers, and social workers to work for free?

  27. Maybe I am just an old fuddy duddy, but this age of instant 24hr cable news has made people feel entitled to know every and anything that happens at the instant it happens. Some of us remember the days before every home had a TV and people wrote letters and mailed them to share news. If the police are searching for a criminal in your neighborhood, the smartest thing to do is lock your doors, load your gun and be ware of your surroundings until there is no longer any activity. I imagine that there are people in that area sitting at their computers waiting for someone to tell them what is going on rather than ensuring that they have secured their home and family.

How do you know that they are searching for a criminal? Maybe the helicopter is out searching for a lost person. If they were searching for a missing child wouldn't you want to go out and help them or just sit locked inside your house?

I watched the twitter feed when the shooting happened at the Columbia Mall. The Howard County police did an excellent job of keeping everyone informed.

Maybe if the police around here kept the public informed they could catch more of these criminals

  29. 10:39, that's a little pompous of you isn't it? Well, we aren't living in 1950 ok and we here on Siloam look out for one another, we call each other to keep each other safe, how do you think joe knew, we are the people looking out for one another....police up and down the street with helicopters and I'm a few houses away and wasn't told.....so we do what we have to.....oh.....and well after we took care of ourselves and our neighbors.....batty post 10:39

    ReplyDelete
  30. The second 10:39 post, how do I know it wasn't a lost child??? Because my neighbor is running through our woods chasing an armed robber, we call each other, sheesh......

    ReplyDelete
  31. 11:16
It was 10:54 that mentioned the child not 10:39. I guess your neighbor just happen to dial you as he was chasing the suspect. Really?

To serve and protect! If they informed the public using social media like other departments do we would be better protected.

  32. FYI, there are at least 6 LE officers that live in the immediate area of the search and eventual capture. I think we'll be ok.

  33. Wow! You guys need to move to Dover. The crime is much worse there than in Salisbury.Someone is obviously doing something right there, but Dover has a larger population,so maybe that factors in just a wee bit.Not much mind you,but a wee bit. It's much safer in Salisbury.

  34. I live in Fruitland and never even heard a helicopter last night.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 9:11
Yes there are many officers, including at least 4 on Campground Road alone. That, in and of itself, does not prevent crime. A year or two ago, there was an arrest made on that same road of a man/monster molesting children (within 1/8th mile of the nearest LEO).

  38. Hey Joe,
I really loike the Sunday round up of articles! That way I don't miss something big! Is there a way you could start dating the posts so on the main page we could see clearly when the events happen? When you post, and then repost it on Sunday it makes it look like it just happened today. Putting a date on the top of the post would make the reporting more clear to readers.

    Just a suggestion,

Thanks for keeping us so well informed. It's obvious that the msm surely doesn't.

  39. 2:19
We put up a post above the Sunday articles that we have moved that states anything with today's date is part of the 'Week in review'. If you click on the comments of an article you will be able to tell which date it was posted from the date listed on the first comment. Hope this helps. I'm glad you like the Sunday roundup!
