Ala. Supreme Court: 'Unborn Child Has Inalienable Right to Life From its Earliest Stages'

In a case about a pregnant woman who used cocaine and endangered her unborn child, the Alabama Supreme Court affirmed (8-1) that the word “child” includes “an unborn child,” and that the law therefore “furthers the State’s interest in protecting the life of children from the earliest stages of their development.”

In his concurring opinion, Alabama Chief Justice Roy S. Moore wrote that “an unborn child has an inalienable right to life from its earliest stages of development,” and added, “I write separately to emphasize that the inalienable right to life is a gift of God that civil government must secure for all persons – born and unborn.”

  2. OMG! He said the "God" word!!!!!

Whoops, so did I, I guess. Go get the "humanists" and the "atheists" to let them decide for us how we handle reality.

We, as believers, of course have no idea how to handle the concept of souls entering the body of life and the celebration of new life.

    So tired of idiots...

  4. "The State’s interest in protecting the life of children from the earliest stages of their development...?!" Wait a minute. According to this logic, it's now the State's responsibility to monitor all women of childbearing age...not just for drug use, but for any activity that the State deems potentially harmful to a fetus. I find this to be deeply troubling. Are you a woman of childbearing age? No coffee, smoking, booze, drugs (prescription or otherwise), contact sports, etc for you unless you can provide proof of virginity! Otherwise, you could be pregnant and your uterus is now the property of the State! Gee, thanks, Judge.
