Supporters Believe Marijuana Decriminalization Bill Is In Trouble

Efforts to reduce the penalties for possessing small amounts of marijuana have appeared to come to a roadblock in the Maryland Legislature.

After the Senate approved its own marijuana decriminalization bill last week, the House Judiciary Committee postponed a scheduled vote on its own bill, first on Saturday, and then on Monday.

The panel’s chairman, Joe Vallario opposes both legalizing and decriminalizing marijuana. He is promising a hearing on the Senate bill.

  1. I sure hope the Bill fails. Never understood the justification for the bill. I see the passing of this just dummying down America even more. Too many cases of casual use leading to addiction of more damaging drugs. Alcohol is bad enough and just as damaging in some ways.

  2. I agree with 11:28! Everyone that is caught with less then 10 grams of pot should do hard time. We have so much room in our jails so why not use it? Let's make alcohol illegal again while were at it. That really worked out well!

  4. Let me ask you all retards this one question...

JUST BECAUSE THE GOVT DECRIMINALIZES OR LEGALIZES MARIJUANA, does that mean you will start to smoke it if you never have before or don't do it currently? NO of course not so what makes you think that if it becomes legal or decriminalised that others will automatically just start to smoke marijuana?

Just so you know Marijuana is NOT A DRUG specifically if you use the DEFINITION OF A DRUG, Marijuana is a plant and/or a flower... So if you want to use that "it alters your body and mind crap"; well then You know kinda like when you drink coffee, or eat chocolate or better yet just consume caffeine, that too alters your body and mind...

Not to mention there are other ways to ingest THC from marijuana whereas you don't get all the pathogens these dumb ass people claim are there... Secondly, if you are going to use that defence to hate on marijuana, think about this, when you breathe plein air outside, you take in more pathogens than smoking weed PERIOD!!!...

If you want to use the gateway crap also, that is false, it is not a gateway drug, there is no prof... Secondly, the only reason why the data for weed is so high is because people on it or get caught using it, well it stays in your system longer than cocaine or heroin or anything else... Thirdly, it is a schedule 1 drug which means you can't test with it so you have no prove it does harm or any good to people... Forthly, when someone with epolepsy or cancers say this helps them with seisurse or pain then it helps and if it helps than to me thats a plus... UNLIKE all these pain meds and cancer fighting med which what? give you more cancers by taking them to fight the very cancer you rid yourself from...

Another thing to mention is, because it is a natural plant whereas you do not alter its state whereas YOU PLANT A SEED IT GROWS AND YOU SMOKE IT, with other drugs you alter it and add shit and take away shit where it affects your body...

I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A PERSON, NOT ONE OVERDOSING ON WEED... and if this were to happen best believe it would be on the news 24/7 seeing how we have a war on drugs....

Oh but it is all for the kids right? so why lock up the kids father for weed? why lock the kid up for weed? how does this help the KIDS? exactly it doesn't...

Also to mention how most law enforcement people say they are not even making a dent in the when it comes to stopping weed... So much so most law people quit enforcing it and moved to a job where you help regulate it...

Where is your alls proof that what you say is wrong? its easy to comment and run your mouth but where is your evidence? I gave you mine and all of it can be verified by documents if you take the time to read them...

  5. It's election year, it will get passed next year, mark these words. Matter of fact they should let citizens vote for referendum to legalize. Then politicians don't have to take the fall for a policy someone else may object to.

  6. All for a referendum to legalize like Colorado and Washington Staes.
