ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor O'Malley issued the following statement after the Maryland Senate voted unanimously (47-0) in favor of the O'Malley-Brown Administration's bill SB 337, which would give judges the authority to impose enhanced penalties for acts of violence committed in the presence of a minor in the home:
"I want to commend the action of Maryland Senators, who voted unanimously to strengthen protections for victims of domestic violence. This vote brings us one step closer to holding more abusers accountable, and to doing more to ensure stable, healthy homes for Maryland children. I look forward to signing this bill into law when it reaches my desk."
