Why would anyone move into Wicomico county?
March 21, 2014 at 5:11 PM
5:11, Well, if your spouse is in ECI, Salisbury is the cheapest place around to pick up a piece of crap rental unit close enough to your "thug" in Jail.
Then there's the Section 8, Subsidized and Affordable Housing Units all throughout the City. More so than ANYWHERE else in the state.
Open your eyes, Salisbury is filling up with BOTTOM FEEDERS and people like Mayor Jim Ireton can stand in front of these people and be their Ruler without many of them ever thinking of challenging him or his ways.
They won't come to Council Meetings and they won't stand up for their rights as long as their rent is below $300.00 a month, they can achieve food stamps, welfare and an Obama phone.
Salisbury and Wicomico County Maryland is, after all, DA BURY. The New America.

Joe I don't normally agree with you, but that was spot on!
ReplyDeleteEverybody knows YOU won that election JOE.
ReplyDeleteI went to the park last weekend on one of the warm days and was depressed by the low standards of people I saw and heard there. I'm not trying to pass judgement on anyone, but these people have poor life skills, poor social skills, poor speaking ability, poor hygiene, etc. They certainly do not have much of an education and there were a few that passed by that just made me decide to leave because I feared for my safety.
ReplyDeleteJoe, you are correct in your assessment and what is funny is, liberals will feel the same way amongst themselves but as soon as anyone speaks it publicly they turn on the hypocrisy and call you a bigot or a racist.
The fact is, they have dumbed down society to the extent that generally people have no decency or couth left. They do not even understand the concept of self respectful behavior. To them that is being stuck up or uppity or uncle Tom-ish. In fact, the more heathenish they can act the better. That unfortunately is the new normal that we have to "tolerate" and "accept" according to the politically correct progressive liberal.
please post the response….
ReplyDeleteHate to break it to you, but it is not like that everywhere. Only here. Unless you travel outside of the ES you will never know that there is intelligent life living elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteSure there is garbage in every community. But here, it seems to have swallowed up the community and is now the picture we are portraying for the rest of the world to see.
If this new crime initiative was working, we would not have a whole city of ..... garbage. Word travels fast and they now know that they can do what they want and get away with it.
Thousands of dollars of vandalism to my vehicle, saw and identified the perp, and nothing was done. He walked away free. I paid the price, not him. That is how our new crime initiative works. And they know it.. and they laugh about it.
Drug dealers living behind us, the cops know it and nothing is done about it. Dealers know it and they laugh about it.
The new norm, you can't arrest your way out of a problem... bullcrap. Its the only way, lock em up and ship their ghetto azzes out of here.
Great post Joe and to 6:01, you must be reading my thoughts...
ReplyDeleteWhy do you stay if it is so bad?
ReplyDeleteNearly every imate at ECI is released into Somerset county. The states agreement with the area long ignored. Heavy gang members now call the area home. Hop the bus to commit whatever crap they do and hop the bus home . So very glad I'm not a shore resident any longer.....
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the above comments. Even going to Giant for my groceries is getting a little "unnerving" with all the street people hanging around - even in the main entrance they sit on the scooters with all their buddies and make comments as I walk by. Two nights ago I was coming out of Giant and some creepy guy walked up to me babbling about something - scared me to death. So far where I live its still a nice neighborhood but who knows how long that will last with the price of my house going down, dow, down!
ReplyDeleteHate to disagree 6:43, but yes, it is everywhere. Maybe folks who live in gated communities don't see it, but ours is a society in decay. The rot is all over. Look at the White House, for heaven sake.
ReplyDelete601 who are you talking about.what kind of people
ReplyDeleteThis is happening in small towns across this country.
ReplyDeleteThese are the results of thirty years of wealth distribution, started by Reagan, from the middle class to the 1%.
That is when we saw the great middle class of the 50's and 60's dissolve.
Open your eyes, Salisbury is filling up with BOTTOM FEEDERS
ReplyDeleteAnd then they get jobs as firefighters or cops.
7:11 who do you think? The one that deal drugs and wear their pants down around their knees with their azzes hanging out.
ReplyDeleteLarge house in Salisbury hitting the market in a few days. Pay for it and rent it out until you bleed every drop available from the state and federal system
ReplyDeleteI am not moving I am running but there is no escape from the downward spiral
7:11, read the description. I believe 6:01 is talking about people with exceptionally low educational standards that can barely speak intelligible English as a first and only language. They are white, black, brown and various mixtures of all of the above.
ReplyDeleteThey have no priority to wash themselves or their clothes even though they drive up in an Escalade to have a cookout on the tax payers dime on a Tuesday afternoon. They spew profanity on their Obamaphones like drunken sailors as their children run as free as primates in the jungle creating mayhem such as deliberately targeting the ducks and geese with sticks and rocks. With a sick grin, they taunt joggers and passers by that challenge them to act civilized and show some respect in public. They are careless, heartless, destructive and trashy human beings that needed some life instruction when they were growing up as children but instead they had some liberal like Norm or Jan Conway deliberately allowing the misbehavior and listlessness infect their lives as habit when their parents were out drinking, smoking crack, in jail or prostituting. (which was ok with them too)
Get the picture now?
8:59 I think you are describing what are known as the from heres.
ReplyDelete6:56 If you are a home owner you are stuck. We can't sell our home to leave. Bought a home in the bury 5 years ago and it is substantially worth less now. We can't even sell and get out even. No one wants to move here.
ReplyDeleteAs a contractor I work all over Salisbury and in many rental units and all we see in those units for the most part are low life scum. That is of course it's an older retired couple that are stuck there because that is all they can afford. It is a must to keep our trucks locked down and or watched while we are there.
ReplyDeleteAs for the commenter about shopping at Giant and running into the thuggery outside of the front door that's because of the homeless shelter just across the tracks behind Giant. It seems as though the no loitering sign's do not apply to them. A woman shopping there had better be on her guard at all times because of these individuals. Most of them stink to high heavens and are filthy looking but that's their own fault. For the most part they won't bother you but there is always the one that will because he thinks you owe him something.
The problems mentioned in the original post don't end in Salisbury they spill over into The Fruitland and Delmar areas as well this whole area is quickly going down the tubes.
Wicomico County Schools are number one in the state for kids on Free and Reduced Lunch and also number one in kids who are considered homeless. This area sucks. It should be a great city with its location as a cross roads, a regional medical center, and a great university with a highly-rated business school, and its proximity to the beach. Instead we have no jobs, declining property values, a dead downtown, and a very high crime rate. It's depressing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, 859. You are amazingly correct!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that all of you are leaving our community for greener grass.Your services,(whatever in the world they are)will no longer be needed.Bye bye.
ReplyDelete8:22 is correct about the Giant. I'm in Lewes DE quite a bit and due to the soup kitchen on Rt 1 the businesses around it have the panhandling going on. Some are quite aggressive. Some use props such as gas cans and say they are out of gas and need money for that. Others will see you walking up to the store and suddenly look in the trash can to gain your sympathy.

look in your cracked mirror
Feed them and they will come..
ReplyDelete9:28
ReplyDeleteWhat you may not realize is those that leave take their money with them. Loss of tax revenue and spending in local businesses. You seem happy to see people leave so I guess you will pick up the slack and pay higher taxes to support the spending of your elected officials.
Hey 9:28 just remember less people means less of everything else. More jobs lost, more services and companies lost..... A lot less for you so when you have nothing not to long from now think about how foolish your post truly is.... You born here's are really dumb
ReplyDelete8:00 pm You are incorrect. FDR started the descent into the welfare state, LBJ put it on steroids and Carter,Obama have finished off the middle class. Learn basic economics you moron--Reagan strengthened the middle class by cutting taxes and eliminating regulatory impediments to growth. The middle class grew and prospered under Reagan AND Clinton enjoyed the benefits of Reagans economic policies during his first term in office. You are truly symptomatic of the flawed and warped thinking that is the progressive liberal of today.
ReplyDelete10:30-The negativity is much more costly than the loss of tax revenue.
ReplyDeleteIn response to the perpetual 'come here / from here' argument: I certainly remember a time when we had very few of the problems that we do now. And those problems were mostly in isolated areas. Not all, but a lot, of this crap seems to have come with the influx of people from urban areas. And, of course, there were some locals who were quick to adopt these negative traits. Neither group is entirely innocent.
ReplyDelete10:34 and anyone else who blames the "born here" or "from here". YOU ARE DELUSIONAL!!!
ReplyDeleteThe progressive electives are the cause of ALL of this. They want to infest this area so the "born here" are forced out. Look at all of the programs to "help the poor", new "legislation", EPA regs., insane taxes, etc. ALL under the guise of "for the children" or "for the middle class". They help NO ONE except themselves. The Eastern Shore is the elite's future retirement, and THEY want it for themselves. They have Queen Annes and Talbot and they will work their way east. The elites allow this area to be infested and then they will become the exterminator!
Signed,
"BORN HERE"
So with all the bitchin and moaning are any of you going to the city or county council meetings to demand change? The shore is a poor area, with lots of poor people. These people are white, black and Hispanic. It's easy to look down your nose, act scared and complain. It's a helleva lot harder to take real action. The shore suffers from a lack of leadership and a lack of jobs. Fix those two items and things will get better. Until then stop with the theatrics and take action. And please unless you've got a Mitt Romney type bank account, please stop lying to yourself....Reagan didn't do a damn thing for the middle class. He did however do plenty for those with HHI's of 250K or more. Understand economics and history, don't spew tired old talking points.
ReplyDelete12:46 you are the delusional one!!!! The elite aren going to retire in an area with nothing to offer them. They want real shopping, the arts, and gourmet food, and don't forget great year around weather. The shore has none of the above. But hey you born here's know so much I'm sure you will be able to do anything with nothing because soon it's all you will have.
ReplyDelete8:00pm, Could you name an example for us, where Regan took from the middle class and gave it to the 1%?
ReplyDeleteRead 10:44's comment.
"The shore has none of the above."
ReplyDelete2:49 - ever been to Talbot County? There are folks over there who piss away more $$ in an afternoon than you'll see in your entire lifetime. And Talbot County, my challenged friend, is indeed on the shore.
The other reason to come here is if one of the local employers pay you to relocate and come here. That's how I got here. Should have never bought a house here - we would have been able to leave a lot easier.
ReplyDeleteNow we're stuck since the local employer laid off a bunch of folks a couple years ago - no real work here and we can't sell to leave.
That local employer now has job openings and won't look at local folks - and is importing still. Now there are more folks with potential to be stuck here after the next round of layoffs.
These people and i have met many ship their cars to SWFl for the winter!!! I can't tell you how many Maryland tags I see down here!!! Homes here sell for 48 million dollars.... Google it. Naples Florida is home to 20k millionaires just in this town alone. Don't tell me about money on the shore.... You can't touch it here. Oh and we have jobs, arts, shopping, gourmet restaurants, and awesome weather! Don't kid yourself.... Just google it if you think I'm kidding.
ReplyDeleteI just got back from Bens Reds swings NOTHING but philly and ny Obama peeps.
ReplyDeleteSalisbury as a democrat's version of utopia is almost complete. A few more rental properties and welfare recipients moving here to fill them, maybe some new fast-food joints, just a handful more rich, fed-up Republicans leaving town...then they'll have local elections sewn up with no further need to use computer voting to win.
ReplyDelete2:40 obviously you are a liberal progressive who has zero knowledge about the tremondous growth of the middle class due to President Ronald Reagan. You can claim otherwise but the truth is the truth. Go worship at the alter of Paul Krugman and his idiotic economic beliefs.
ReplyDeleteTalbot county is much different than wicomico county due to its proximity to the real world. Those people don't drive to Salisbury to shop or dine, the go to Annapolis/DC/Baltimore. The locals (from heres) in Talbot county have learned to cater to the come heres and have prospered as a result. The further east/south you travel from the Bay Bridge the change in attitude is clearly evident. At one time Salisbury enjoyed an economic boost in the summer months because people actually stopped here on the way to OC. Today, very few tourist actually stop in Salisbury unless the need gas. Since the Royal Farms opened on 50, they have no need to leave 50/bypass. Cambridge will be the next up and coming area on the shore because 50 runs right through it. The Wawa by Washington St is always packed in the summer. Even though there are some slums close to downtown, there a far fewer bums/panhandlers than in Salisbury.
ReplyDelete. Now there are more folks with potential to be stuck here after the next round of layoffs.
ReplyDeleteMarch 22, 2014 at 5:19 PM
If anyone had that much potential they would not be stuck anywhere. Maybe some people overvalue themselves.
And instead of complaining about living here, why don't you just move elsewhere? Seriously, you don't sound happy here, and its obvious that some don't want you here.
Go to where you can reach your full potential.
The locals in Talbot don't 'cater' to anyone, 6:54. They simply have a much higher class of folks moving in to their county.
ReplyDeleteThanks wikipedia:Reagan followed his 1981 tax cuts with the Tax Reform Act of 1986, which sought to eliminate deductions, lower marginal rates for the wealthy, raise taxes on those earning less than $50,000 and simplify the number of tax brackets. [8][9] In 1982 Reagan agreed to a rollback of corporate tax cuts and a smaller rollback of individual income tax cuts. The 1982 tax increase undid a third of the initial tax cut. In 1983 Reagan instituted a payroll tax increase on Social Security and Medicare hospital insurance. [10]
ReplyDelete"These people and i have met many ship their cars to SWFl for the winter!!!"
ReplyDelete5:23 - that's some serious gibberish, buddy! Have you seen that shrink yet? I think you're overdue...
How about - There are many people and I have met many of them, that ship their cars to SWFL….
ReplyDeleteRemember before Reagan the middle class could deduct car interest and interest paid on any consumer debt. He took that away and drastically cut the top rate. Selling some snake oil about how it would trickle down to the masses.
ReplyDeleteNow we have a rotting infrastructure and middle class that has lost ground. Not lost because of providing for the poor but by giving to the richest 1%.
Don't let the facts confuse you.
ReplyDeleteI have been saying this all along. Most points made about ECI, Salisbury and the high crime rate connected to Salisbury due to ECI came from me. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to think about this.
ReplyDeleteThis is also why we have so much homelessness in the city. Many of the homeless people are outsiders and some just released from ECI. We, going way back to Lore Chambers, opened our arms up to the homeless people. Many are criminals. While we are opening our arms up for them the better cities are giving them bus tickets and sending them here. DUH!! You have been had by your government and other local governments who don't want their trash.

Yes I remember being able to deduct interest on credit cards. I don't know remember the plan being to trickle down on the masses, but if you say so. By the way did it occur to you that this happened about 30 years ago? That is more than a lifetime. Since that was 30 years ago and your liberal Democrats have been in control much of that time why haven't they done anything to restore those deductions?
And rotting infrastructures? Um, blame that on 60 years of Democrat control. The best example is Detroit.
The middle class that has lost ground? That is because we as a nation have been taxed to death by your liberal Democrats. Your people that receive the entitlements have been multiplying like cock roaches that the actual middle class has lost ground because we can no longer pay for their free housing, welfare, food stamps, EBT cards, Free and Reduced Meals in schools(over 53% in Wicomico alone) free college tuition to the "poor" and illegals, Medicaid, lost job and education opportunities because they are going to minorities and foreigners... need I go on?

This sounds like Chuck Cook setting someone up so he can get a screen capture to say Joe is racist in case you convinced him to run again. They are running scared.
8:59 put it out there so eloquently.
5:23 said - "Homes here sell for 48 million dollars.... Google it"
ReplyDeleteOK - I will.
Response - "The median sales price for homes in Naples FL for Dec 13 to Mar 14 was $237,000."
Naples IS a nice place, but you really need to get over your fantasies.
Actually last summer 2 homes in Naples sold for 47million dollars cash each and now one just broke 49 million. In port royal here you can't buy a building lot for less than 6million dollars so don't give me that median price crap, it doesn't work in Naples. You can't get into a development here for less then 300k. The car haulers start arriving here in late September thru November bringing down cars from the north, I've never seen anything like it in my life but it is true. The median home price is a joke...truth is the shore including talbot county can't touch it. We have progress, jobs, arts, great weather, shopping like you can't imagine.. Google coconut point and see what I mean. The eastern shore has refused to embrace the come here's so now they go somewhere else.....worked for me...
ReplyDeleteThat's all wonderful, 10:42. And I believe about 50% of it - primarily because I have lived on Florida's west coast. What freaks me out is that you have this 'great life' and yet, you spend your time on an Eastern Shore blog sneering at people and bragging about your personal circumstances. I think you have some unresolved issues that might require professional help.
ReplyDelete7:02 - I did leave - for a job - I just can't sell my property here.
ReplyDeleteI was reemployed very quickly - showing the mentality of the employers here....
Chuck Cook is always running down the Republicans and claiming the Democrats work for the working class and the poor. Funny thing is the two idols he and his buddy Jim Ireton worship the most are millionaires and live in mansions.
ReplyDeleteI would to see Jim or Chuck host a party at their shacks they call their homes in Da 'Bury! I would love to see them have a party at their house and invite Obama and O'Malley. If by chance O'Malley attended a party at either one of their dumps he would snub his nose at them and rush home to take a shower.
These idols would never associate with the peasants like Jim Ireton. They both would be embarrassed to be seen in Jim or Chucks houses. They would laugh at where Jim and Chuck live. They use sheeples like Jim and Chuck to do their dirty work.
O'Malley and Obama can't stand the working people they only say what the working people want to hear just for votes. They would never associate with low lifes like Chuck Cook and Jim Ireton. They are to good for them, but Cook and Ireton are to stupid to see it.
1:08 I spent a lot of my life on the shore and watched it fall sadly. It's time the people on the shore wake up and see the truth. I post here because if the shore is to survive it needs to really change. I don't brag about anything...I write about what makes an area create job growth and progress. The shore needs to figure it out or fail. The ignorance of the born here's is stunning and sad... They refuse to see the reality of where the shore is going.....all the blame is placed on outsiders and that's not even close to the truth. I can back most of what I say with facts like them or not.
ReplyDeleteCheck this out. These are the Democrats that Jim Ireton and Chuck Cook worship. This is why our city and Country are in the shape it's in because of criminal democrats.
ReplyDeleteDemocrats Honor Vote Fraud Criminal in Cincinnati
Written By : Warner Todd Huston
March 22, 2014
Al Sharpton gives criminal Melowese Richardson a big hug at her “welcome home” gala thrown by Ohio democrats.
Once again we see an example that to be a Democrat is to celebrate criminality–not merely indulge in criminality, but making it something to be proud of. This time it is evinced in the giant “welcome home” party thrown for a racist who was convicted of voter fraud in Ohio.
You may recall that a Cincinnati, Ohio resident named Melowese Richardson voted six times for Barack Obama in 2012 because he “had a right” to be President. This black racist purposefully voted twice for herself, sent an absentee ballot in for her granddaughter (who went and legally voted on her own on Election Day) and sent three absentee ballots in for her sister who is infirm and in a coma.
This Democrat criminal was such an ignoramus that she fully admitted to her illegal actions right on TV in February of 2013 saying, “I’ll fight it for Mr. Obama and Mr. Obama’s right to sit as president of the United States.”
This racist scumbag was convicted and given a five-year sentence but was just released because activists bleated that her sentence was “unfair” and authorities stupidly bowed to the agitation.
On her release, Ohio Democrats and nationally known left-wingers gathered together for a great party to celebrate this criminal. Even murderer Al Sharpton showed up to join in the celebration.
Once again we see Democrats actually celebrating criminality. It’s bad enough, of course, when politicians and activists perpetrate crimes in pursuit of their political point of view, but there was once a day when Democrats at least pretended that they stood against criminal behavior and were suitably embarrassed when they or their fellows were caught at it.
Oh, but those days are in the past. Now liberals, left-wingers, and Democrats are proud and open about their criminality and encourage others to join them at it.
Here they are gathered together to celebrate the crimes committed by this racist woman. And you can bet that she was just one of tens of thousands of democrats who committed voter fraud that election and every election previous.
It is quite disgusting, really. But that is what it is to be a Democrat.
America we are now at a time when laws are meaningless. You cannot trust the system because there system is capricious. The law means nothing and it is all thanks to the Democrat Party.

Comments clearly reflect why no one would want to move to Wicomico County.I would like to thank each and every one of you for making that an easy decision for me to make.
