Here we go again. Another FEMALE Department Head is leaving the City of Salisbury under a homosexual Mayor who clearly dislikes women.
Who will be our next Police Chief, Chuck Cook? Antwan Mayweather?
Effective June 30th, Chief Barbara Duncan will be leaving the Salisbury Police Department. I am very sorry to make this announcement Ladies & Gentlemen as I personally feel she has been the best thing Salisbury has seen in decades.
Think of what she could have accomplished if the control freak Mayor would have stepped away and let her do her job.
The Director of Finance, Public Works Director, Jessie & Gina, his executive assistants, Lore' Chambers and now Chief Duncan. There could be several more that are no longer working for the City but this is what comes to the top of my head at the moment.
Best Wishes Barbara and Thank You.

She has a very nice family also! I do not blame her who would want to work in Salisbury the way it is run! Thanks Mrs. Duncan and we wish your family well!
ReplyDeleteOh My!
ReplyDeleteAdd deputy directors Gerri Moore and Catrice Parsons to the list of departing women officials
DeleteChief Duncan is not only a very capable law enforcement officer she is a good person. This is a real loss to Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteIf the politicians would stay out of the PD we would see a real reduction in crime and not the illusion created to the give politicians a bragging platform.
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely convinced that PD's are pressured by politicians (who hire and can fire them) into downgrading crimes, so it looks like crime is actually being reduced. Then the politicians say "look how great I am-I've lower the crime rate."
I liked her but we need the national guard.
ReplyDeleteAny word on where she is going? Salisbury will miss her! Great day for the Thugs!
ReplyDeleteThe homosexual pansy mayor hates women. Chief Duncan has really improved things amongst the police department. If anyone needs to resign or get booted out of office it would be the queen himself Miss Ireton. He is not anything great for the city. The city is on the path to become the next Detroit.
ReplyDeleteDid the Ocean City police chief position just open up beginning of the year again? Didn't Chief Duncan used to work for OC part-time?
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this! Chief Duncan has been great for Salisbury. Lots of much-needed integrity. Wish her and her family the best.
ReplyDeleteLabeling him a homosexual mayor, in an article, makes you look petty.

That is exactly what happened with Jim Ireton's "Crime is Down" mantra. He worked out something with Matt Maciarello the States Attorney. Their motive was to not charge people such as first offenders and they got off or they had to attend something. This is a fact and I was told by the States Attorney. If you don't charge criminal who committed a crime it appears that crime has gone down. Sorry but that is a fact.
I'm sorry to hear about Chief Duncan. However, I would like to take this opportunity to put Cpl. Lee Stevens of WCSO name in to fill the position of the Chief of Police for Salisbury Police Department. Cpl. Stevens has the drive, determination, the know how, the respect of the community and most of all the respect of his peers. Cpl. Lee Stevens leads by example and always from the front. he is the first to put his boots on the ground at any call and the last to leave. Cpl. Lee Stevens, you are loved and supported by the citizens of Wicomico County. I'm calling for not only Chief Duncan but all the members of SPD and the WCSO to support Cpl. Lee Stevens. Let's hear it folks. Support Cpl. Stevens in this matter. We love you man. Keep up the good work Lee Stevens.
ReplyDeleteWhat did she give as her reason for leaving? Another job?
ReplyDeleteCompared to that scumbucket Webster, who, under the Liar-in-Chief, Barrie Tilghman, lied his way in, lied his way out, scammed a monster disability payout after falling out of his office chair in addition to his Baltimore PD retirement, nearly completely ruined the SPD and then had the stones to put himself up for election as Somerset County Sheriff....
ReplyDeleteThank you for your recommendation, Mrs. Stevens.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how they expect to keep anyone with Ireton riding people like a dirty diaper. The same goes for attracting good people to fill positions. We were lucky to acquire Chief Duncan, Barkley can fill the shoes, however we should seek a candidate for long term and at Barkley's age he'll being thinking retirement in the not too distant future. This is sad to hear. Thanks for your service Chief Duncan!
ReplyDelete12:18, While running for Mayor Jim Ireton stated in the Daily Times, why would you challenge my homosexuality and not challenge Joe's heterosexuality.
ReplyDeleteCall me a heterosexual ALL DAY LONG, you'll NOT hurt MY feelings. So why does it bother YOU?
Chief Duncan HAS restored some decency and integrity to the Salisbury police force.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame to see her leave.
Somehow I think she has decided to do so because of the "politically correct" liberals that will not allow the department do it's job.
This last group who ALL OF US saw on TV with their crime reduction advice was the final straw.I followed the SPD body language during that farce of a meeting. What an insult.I don't blame her a bit for leaving. Those idiots would tell a doctor how to operate. Now they're like "who me"?Yes dammit you.You drove her out.I hope you are happy.
ReplyDeleteIf you have ever worked with homosexuals one would understand why most normal people would want to sever their ties. You are now seeing it.
ReplyDeleteI serve on a Committee with Barb Duncan. She is an outstanding person who is thoughtful and measured in her responses and actions. A real breath of fresh air. She is admired by many. This is not only a loss for Salisbury, but our county as well.
ReplyDeleteIf this is true, I hope she finds a great position where she will be respected and supported - she deserves nothing less.
I heard sheriff lewis hired her to replace Gary baker
ReplyDeleteI wish Lee Stevens was running for Somerset Sheriff.
ReplyDeleteMentioning the Mayor as a homosexual is nothing petty about that.We had a good police chief for once and now she is leaving. Ireton hates women is becoming more apparent. He is turning the downtown into a big colorful rainbow.
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor has an unnatural sexual orientation?
ReplyDeleteLet's just call it "alternative".
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened to Chief Coulburne Dykes, except it was Mayor Tighlman at that time that wanted to run the police department. What makes these two bit politicians think they can run a police department? We all know what happened after Dykes was gone, Salisbury became what it is today for that reason, one big crime scene.
ReplyDeleteWho better to toot ones horn than the Mrs? That's the way it should be.
ReplyDeleteMale department heads have also rolled out under Ireton's reign. I can think of two.
ReplyDeleteSomehow someway this HOMO has to go! He is a discredit to humanity. How in the hell the people of Salisbury elected this idiot I'll never know. They simply put, got what they deserved.
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor of Salisbury has "Gender Disorder" a Psychotic problem until Obama became President; not long ago persons were placed on MEDS for Gender Disorder...Males with this Disorder hate Women...
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you ask the SPD officers what they think about her leaving?

No it doesn't. An informed person wants to know every aspect of a politicians life. A person's personal life is the true reflection of who they are and their beliefs. The problem with you liberals is you are brainwashed into thinking everyone's personal life is off limits. This is why you all elect the most incompetent people ever who make a boondoggle out of everything they touch.
It would behoove you to wise up.
I've heard (from a good source in the PD) that Ivan Barkley is retiring. Who will be left to take the helm?
ReplyDelete1:23 PM
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the Mrs. also writes the narrative portion of his evaluations.
1:52 - Meienshein that's who
ReplyDeleteShe probably had enough of this area and the no nothings who run it.
ReplyDeleteChief Duncan deserves better. I truly believe that she's up against doing what's right vs. what she's told. Barry Tilghman used the SPD and NSCC as her own tools to politically and personally intimidate anyone not rowing her boat. Her replacement is following her muddy footprints.
ReplyDeleteIt's shameful that a person with the credentials, dedication, personality and motivation such as Barbara Duncan's is lost to petty foolishness and ignorance of the truth of what's obvious to us all.
Chuck Cook for Chief. We all know he has those computer skills.
ReplyDeleteWithin the last 10 years or more there have been a lot of city department head turnovers. That speaks for itself, it must be pretty bad to quit a government job with benefits and no fear of the government going out of business and losing your job. I know they pay department heads very well. I firmly believe that Chief Duncan holds her head high and is assured she is capable of doing the job. Jim don't want qualified department heads, he wants yes men BS shovel'ers.
ReplyDelete12:18 So Homosexuals should be celebrated even when they are spiteful..retribution driven ..and woefully incompetent?
ReplyDeleteSexuality is something gays hold parades over-- when any pattern of dysfunction gets in the way of an elected official doing his elected job ..the dysfunction should and must be referenced.
At least she earned her pay. mike lewis just goes around shouting off his mouht and gets paid for not doing sqat for this county.
ReplyDeleteI want to make myself VERY clear here.
ReplyDeleteMy sources on this matter are first hand sources who are extremely reliable and would never lie or mislead anyone.
Let the backtracking begin, is all I can say. As I said to someone who finally made contact with Mrs. Duncan, no one wants to get fired between now and June 30th.
I stand by my sources.
THAT BEING SAID, No One would like to hear that Mrs. Duncan changed her mind or will not be leaving more than I would.
She is THE MOST PROFESSIONAL Department Head I have ever seen in Salisbury and Salisbury is extremely fortunate to have her on board.
12:18 He is openly and admittedly homosexual, what is your point. Petty???
ReplyDeleteJoe, your 3:10 post is dead on! Couldn't agree more. This mare has got to go, I will not reference his sexual preferences, he has got to go!
ReplyDeleteIvan Barkley should have been police chief all along he was doing the job well and was well respected but we always hire outsiders instead of rewarding and advancing our own. Now maybe he'll have the chance he should have had all along.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is not true. Chief Duncan is not only capable and smart, she is fair, honest and has integrity most offices lack!! I hate to think of where the city of Salisbury will head if she leaves. Sad sad day in the bury. :(
ReplyDeleteAfter watching Ireton on the "State of Salisbury" address on PAC14 I am discusted with the Mayor. Repeatedly he said the "state of Maryland wats us to do this and the state of maryland wants us to do that...". To hell with the state of Maryland they have never given a rats azz about the shore. And to hell with the Mayor!
ReplyDelete3:33, I know Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen would have supported Barkley as the new chief. Ireton would NOT advance him, wanting his buddy Leatherbury instead. (Leatherbury is a good guy, but...)
ReplyDeleteCouncil said no to Ireton's cronyism, so next up was Duncan. They confirmed her. All that was the Louise Smith council.
Most folks like Duncan and Barkley, me included.
Wow the reasons to leave the dysfunctional state of MD PILE UP DAY AFTER DAY....
ReplyDeleteI miss Coulbourne Dykes.
ReplyDeleteShe has done a wonderful job for Salisbury. She is going in business for herself. The new building in front of Sams Club is a new Duncan Doughnuts.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Barbara and you deserve much better than what this city offers. You have done a wonderful job under very trying circumstances. Can't blame you one bit for getting out of here, if we could just sell our house, we would be gone too.
ReplyDeleteShe came back here and realized she made a big mistake.... The shore has nothing to offer a familly. I too came back and packed up and left never to return. She has made the right choice no doubt good for her.
ReplyDeleteThis is a sad day. She did everything to bring a backwards department into a fully functioning positive effort team, upgraded equipment and brought about positive change. We have a better Police Department because of her.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the Mayor hates this, her, and the progress she's made.
I truly hope she can find a better boss and wish her the best.
Thank you, Ms. Duncan, for a fantastic job against all odds!
Amen 5:41. You will be lucky to sell your house around here because there are no jobs, therefore no money. You can thank the liberal Democrats for this.
ReplyDeleteI got lucky and am happy to say I'm outta here almost a year....save for a few friends never looked back.... Never will......
ReplyDeleteBarkley is leaving no one can confirm Duncan is leaving.Maybe it is breaking news here. I am told it is Ivan and that she is staying. Joe has his sources so it may be true. I think any cop right now is tired of all the same old criers making comments about a career that I would not wish on anyone. When i got into twenty six years ago people still saluted the flag. People had pride in the United States. Police were considered as good people all in all. After what I have read the last three weeks on here we have a huge problem in society. If anyone thinks for one minute the job is easy take walk in a cops shoes. People are broke and tired. It has nothing to do with the cops. They are in the same boat people.
ReplyDeleteTo you young people getting into this prfession good freakin luck. People hate cops because they hate the political b.s. going on. We all have suffered trust me. As for the police related shootings oh well the law of the land is just that. Cops did not make these laws. The politicians did. They are worker bees getting pushed by a disgruntled society and a leadership that only cares about liability. It is a thankless career. I myself was born to do this and would do it all over again. I may have done some things differant but mostly I would have remained true to the fight against evil and those who prey upon the innocent. The synical views are just that views. I wouldsay 98 out of 100 cops are true to the cause. It is those two we all fear that includes the rank and file that have to work beside these slugs. It is not just our profession but doctors, lawyers, teachers, preachers, etc. you get the point. It just seems someone out there wants the American people to turn against law and order. My Grandfather said the enemy will win without ever firing a shot. Sadly I think he was right. Capitol Hill is in a shambles. The infighting will be our downfall.
So I will go out today and continue to fight crime. I can not change the polluted minds of so many of our youth and liberal left that is destined for history to repeat itself. It will bring a clash among classes night race this time. The damage may be so great this country may not recover. So think about it before you judge an entire profession. We will be all that stands bewteen you and this segment of society that will steal, rob and rape the innocent. Keep giving up your rights, keep bad mouthing your govt. It will come and when it does you will be standing alone.
God Speed we need it.
I am sure she is tired of seeing so much poverty. No Jobs, low paying fast food joints, and a plethora of crimes. Plus you add a severe harsh winter and it is enough to make you want to pack up and leave. She will be missed.

Did he forget that the State of Maryland stole OUR Highway User Funds? Forget about the pot holes.
Would someone say where she is actually going and why? No one here has actually reported why she said she is leaving.

A Troll from the Fat Man's blog.
What a bunch of hypocrites. When a come here says how much this community suxs you all jump on the wagon and shout what a great place it is to live.
ReplyDeleteThen when the opportunity suits you, you all jump on the wagon and shout what a lousy low rent ghetto community it is.
Which is it?
Or is it like when blacks call each other the n word.
Only a born here can criticize the ghetto?
7:32 How do you know it's the same people criticizing the area? It might just be different people with different views.
ReplyDeleteShe finally got tired of the mayor's crap.
ReplyDeleteCome here, born here makes no difference the are is lost itself over the last couple of decades and now just falls farther everyday. Say what you born here's want you won't survive here much longer either!!! I don't care what you say act tough all you want there's not much left sadly......
