Portsmouth, Va. – Portsmouth Police’s Gang Suppression Unit have arrested 26 people after a long-term investigation into the Gangster Disciples Criminal Street Gang.
The unit focused on the sale and distribution of drugs and firearms in Portsmouth.
Indictments for the 26 suspects were approved by a Portsmouth Grand Jury and the Gang Suppression Unit on March 6th.
The task of locating and arresting the suspects began afterwards.
Over 11 pounds of marijuana as well as large amounts of DMT/MDMA hallucinogens, prescription drugs, heroin, cocaine, THC lollipops, and several firearms were recovered.
Over 150 charges were handed out.

Way too many arrests and way too little jail space to guarantee lenghthy incarcerations.Stimulous funding should have created more prisons to hold these thugs.Mass arrests like the one mentioned always lead to early releases or no incarceration at all.Is the public supposed to be fooled by judicial saber rattling?
