The State Board of Elections voted unanimously Thursday to give county election directors and their deputies a 12% salary increase.
In a 4-0 vote, the board voted to make the raises effective March 1, instead of being retroactive to July 2013, which State Election Administrator Linda Lamone originally requested. Local election officials have not received a pay raise in 14 years.
The current pay ranges from a low of $41,000 in Dorchester County to a high of $138,000 in Montgomery County.

What budget are they cutting to come up with that money?
ReplyDeleteits a special tax
ReplyDeleteI agree with 12:49 comments....where is this money coming from...?
ReplyDeleteWhat's the problem with this? The taxpayers still have some money left. All money is a gift from government so government is just taking back what it gave us. Hey, that's what O'Malley and company think.
ReplyDeleteIMO, they should all be fired for allowing so much corruption in the election process. Not requiring an ID, voter intimidation practices, using dead voters... etc. What makes them worth 40,000-138,000? Way over paid, as it is. Nothing to show for this tax money.
ReplyDeletethey deserve it since they checked so many IDs
