Moments ago a local Salisbury business received a call from someone claiming to be from Delmarva Power. They told them that they were going to cut their power off at 11:30 TODAY if payment isn't made immediately.
Being a smart business person, they already knew their bill was paid in full. They created a three way conversation with their bookkeeper and the bookkeeper immediately recognized the phone number was NOT from Delmarva Power.
They asked why the number was different, CLICK, they hung up.
This has been reported to local law enforcement and they were told, well, since you didn't give out any personal information it was OK. The Police agreed it was a scam.
I am not sure that DP will think it was ok. Is anyone tracking the number down or simply sweeping under the carpet until someone does get ripped off?
