Incident: Assault
Date of Incident: 2 January 2014
Location: 8000 block of Hawthorn Lane, Hebron, MD
Suspect: Barry Anthony Hyland, 43, Hebron, MD
Narrative: On 2 January 2014 at 8:07 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 8000 block of Hawthorn Lane in Hebron for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy met with a female subject who reported that she had been assaulted by her father, Barry Hyland. During the ensuing investigation the deputy was informed that Hyland grabbed the female victim by the throat and threw her down. The account was corroborated by signs of injury on the victim and by other subjects who were in the residence at the time.
The deputy placed Hyland under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Hyland in the Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.

Location: 1500 block of S. Salisbury Blvd., Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Pending
Narrative: On 2 January 2014 at 9:06 AM, a deputy responded to the Court Plaza located in the 1500 block of South Salisbury Boulevard for the report of damaged windows. Upon arrival, the deputy discovered three windows to three separate business appeared to have been shot with an unknown type firearm.
