A rockfish poaching bust nets two watermen, Terry Myrick and John Messenger, landing them in hot water Tuesday.

“They exceeded their daily catch limit,” said Joe Offer, Maryland Natural Resources Police.

  1. darn about time dnr gets some success in getting these guys. I for one am tired of seeing dnr harass the family guy out with his kids trying to enjoy a day on the water and these pricks get away. Throw them in jail for a long long time!

  2. Licensed fishermen as well. Shame. The penalty should double for marking the trade like that.

  3. 8:21 A lot of the "family guy out with his kids" are the worst offenders. Not all, but a lot.

And, it shouldn't be considered harassment... they have a job to do, and you have an obligation to play by the rules. If you're doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about.

They need to up their presence around here, especially with the "hunt clubs", as they are doing some very bad things. Again, not all, but enough that it screws many others over.

  4. lmao at 8:04 must be one of dnr's own. If not then you need to become educated on the regs they push through without any type of legislative review/oversight! Under the new gear category no one not even a child can use a hoop net to catch fish/minnows. Nor can anyone but a waterfront property owner put out a bait pot. once they make every activity on or near the water a criminal offense we'll all be criminals! Makes it a lot easier to herd us up and generate that revenue for the state! total bs! become educated! they are only looking to pad their careers and get promoted at your expense!
f them along with the cops! they are not your friends.

  5. 907-So I assume you'd rather rape the resource than be responsible?
