Schools Urged to Collect 'Demographic Data' on Students Who Are Disciplined
(CNSNews.com) - The Obama administration, concerned that "zero tolerance" policies are sending too many students to court instead of the principal's office, on Wednesday urged schools to back off -- particularly in the case of minority students and other federally protected groups.
"Racial discrimination in school discipline is a real problem today," said Education Secretary Arne Duncan, who joined Attorney General Eric Holder in speaking about the new guidance. Holder said "students of color and those with disabilities" often receive "different and more severe punishment than their peers."
While the nation's schools are under local control, they must follow federal civil rights and disability laws. And the new guidance for the nation's schools could subject more of those schools to federal discrimination lawsuits. In fact, the crackdown already is happening, as CNSNews.com previously reported.

Well, Eric, that's because they are doing "different and more severe infractions than their peers."

Answer? Because students of color disproportionately cause problems of a greater degree of criminality much more often than their "peers".
ReplyDeleteSo, yes, the punishment should fit the offense. Anything else would be discrimination.
The real problem is the liberal breakdown of the family. More black students are born out of wedlock, more black students are from single or NO parental figure homes, more black students have one or more parents in the criminal justice system either incarcerated or on parole/probation, more black students have parents that are DEMOCRATS. That in itself is a frequently overlooked fact. Democrats have more incidences of criminal behavior than Republicans or independents.
FIX those problems if you want to make real change in equality in schools. Discipline is not equal because the offenses are not equal, neither by race or severity. All proven time after time statistically.
PERIOD.
Eric Holder is a nincompoop to think otherwise.
Imagine if someone admits minority students are actually committing more offenses and more serious offenses than Asian, Caucasian and Hispanic kids. When kids never plan to work, going to school to learn is a waste of their time.
ReplyDeleteSchools can't stop the bad behavior so they're stopping the consequences of bad behavior. If one group gets to curse, steal, bully and assault, I hope all groups start doing it. It's only fair.
