Far be it from us to give the Democrats any advice that might work to their benefit, but it seems premature to throw in the towel a full 9 months before the midterm elections.
Yet, that is precisely what some top Democratic party strategists and donors are recommending. They think that there’s no way that the Democrats will recapture the House this fall, so why not allocate all resources to keeping the Senate?
They’re going to need those financial resources if they want to take the Senate. One resource that a lot of Democratic Senate candidates won’t have available to them is the President of the United States.
Of course, the reason that those Democratic Senate candidates won’t have the President available to them is because they don’t want the President available to them. They’d rather not campaign with him at all because he’s now considered a political liability.
