  1. Good! It's an election year and even a stump knows what this country needs the most is jobs. A vote for no pipeline and they won't get my vote. Alaska residents not only don't pay state taxes they also get a payout from Alaska's oil. I've never heard anything major about their pipeline. The biggest spill was the ship Exxon Valdez and that could happen anywhere. Spread the word!

  4. 5:41 Do the research. In a state that has sub 0 temps and dark six months a year there is only so much business and most of them are summer tourists jobs.

  5. If I knew the exact path this would take I'd buy the land & then sell it for a bundle.

  6. The pipeline in this article isn't even close to Alaska. In it's proposal it will originate in Hardisty, Alberta, Canada and end in Steele City, Nebraska.., nowhere near AK.

No. The pipeline runs through vast amounts of state own land.
The company that owns the pipeline (BP largest shareholder)pays land rent to the state which in turn returns it to it's rightful owners the tax payers.
Alaska is doing it right. Allowing a company to make large profits without engaging in corporate welfare by letting then operate on public land for free.
