VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A Navy helicopter went down Wednesday morning off the coast of Cape Henry in the northeast corner of Virginia Beach.
Petty Officer Brandyn Hill with the Coast Guard told WAVY.com five people were aboard the helicopter when it went down about 18 nautical miles east of Cape Henry. The Coast Guard was notified just after 11 a.m.
WAVY News Art Kohn spoke with Cmdr. Mike Kafka with U.S. Fleet Forces Command and confirmed two people have been rescued and were en route to a hospital and two others were on a raft. The remaining person on board is still unaccounted for.

UPDATE: The Navy says one crewman has died after one of its helicopters crashed during a training mission off the coast of Virginia today.
