OBAMACARE - A comment posted on the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare FB page:
"I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 AM. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually.
I chose tier 2 "Silver Plan" and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I "opt-out" and chose to continue along with no insurance.
I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return.
Then you make it to the "REPERCUSSIONS PORTION" for "non-payment" of yearly fine.
First, your driver's license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with "Non-Payment" and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home.
You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy
"Automatically withdraw" your "penalties" weekly, bi-weekly or monthly!
This by no means is "Free" or even "Affordable."
Kinda sheds a lot of light on all of the arming and beefing up of arms for all of the domestic departments INCLUDING the IRS now doesn't it?
There's a war coming folks, COUNT ME IN!
For all the women with children, especially who are the primary breadwinners and MUST continue to work for health benefits, it is truly a sad situation. I am in this boat.....I don't have the option to stay home full time and raise and home-school my kids.
ReplyDeleteNow Obamacare and its penalties are the final nail in this coffin.
The alternative is that I go on welfare to live like I'd please at the cost of other taxpayers. I won't be a slug, so this is not an option....
****To all who post under anonymous, take credit for your thoughts and opinions. Start letting others know how you feel. This is still America, say what you believe and own it!****
I have seen people can opt out with no penalty, says a federal court.
ReplyDeleteWe shall find out the reality of that.
And Jess, you can give your name all you want, you register your guns all you want, you give up anything you want, for me, I am not telling them a damn thing about me, and that includes my name on here.
Nobody knows who reads this. Including government agencies.
I will however OWN my freedom thank you very much.
This is a not true.
ReplyDeleteThe language in the Affordable Care Act is written such that the Internal Revenue Service can only hold back federal income tax refunds for those that chose to be uninsured.
You are not going to lose your driving privilege, the federal government is not going to seize your property.
The provision in the federal tax code the provides for garnishment or seizure only applies to unpaid taxes not to the fines related to the Affordable Care Act.
The way to avoid paying the fine is to not allow federal tax withholding to be greater then the tax you actually owe.
To anonymous 5:35, I have decided that I will not be silent. I WILL NOT register my guns either, you are right in that respect. Be aware that if the government wants to know who's commenting they have the capabilities to find out.
ReplyDeleteOn to WHY I'm commenting unafraid....
Think about how many times you've stood in the grocery checkout behind someone using an EBT. Or how often do you see folks at the doctors paying nothing for their care.
This is so disheartening to me. All I can see are all the long hours I'm away from my kids so these folks can take advantage. Worse still is that its sanctioned and promoted by those elected to office. Where is the personal responsibility?
I don't know how I can do anything as an individual to impact a change. I can voice my displeasure and own it. Hopefully others will join me and be heard. Many people feel as I do and if we fight back, there is still a chance to turn this country around.
Thankyou Joe for giving me a voice in this matter.
God bless America.
I'm so glad she has her facts messed up. I hope she makes out better now.
ReplyDeleteKey portion of this is YOU CHOSE the cheaper plan with a higher deductable. Welcome to the real world. I am roughly from the same income level and have a family plan. I've been paying out-of-pocket over $1000 a month on premiums for nearly 10 years.
ReplyDeleteHey sandbox john, better read again or hour lying for Obama. The post is correct, directly from the site. The feds will suspend your drivers license for nonpayment and in time will place a li3n on personal property. Your facts are not true. Better read a little deeper before you spout your Obama propaganda!
ReplyDeleteObamacare is overly expensive unaffordable insurance with extremely high premiums and deductibles for coverages that many people will never use.
ReplyDeleteIt hurts hard-workng middle class Americans.
This is because the government has mandated what coverages you have to pay for regardless of whether you need those coverages or not.
Grandmothers who don’t drink have to pay for alcohol counseling coverage.
Gay men and grandmothers who can’t get pregnant have to pay for maternity coverage.
No insurance company can sell you a policy that does not include these and various other unnecessary coverages.
And now ALL insurance policies sold in the United States (whether bought on or off the Obamacare website) are Obamacare policies.
You have no more choices!
You need to contact your representatives and let them know you want the law changed to allow you to OPT OUT of coverages you don’t need.
That will lead to decreases in your premiums and deductibles.
Otherwise hard-working middle class Americans will continue to be financially hurt and burdened by being forced by law to pay for ridiculously over-priced insurance that has coverages they will never use.
