WASHINGTON — The NSA chief said Wednesday he knows of no better way his agency can help protect the U.S. from foreign threats than with spy programs that collect billions of phone and Internet records from around the world.
Pleading with the Senate Judiciary Committee to not abolish the National Security Agency’s bulk-collection programs, Gen. Keith Alexander warned that global threats are growing — specifically in Iraq and Syria — that pose what he called “an unacceptable risk” to America.
“How do we connect the dots?” Alexander said, referring to often-hidden links between a foreign terror threat and a potential attack on the U.S. “There is no other way that we know of to connect the dots. … Taking these programs off the table is absolutely not the thing to do.”

Why don't you just try pulling our troops and stop trying to run their lives, droning the dissenters and their families at the weddings, and generally thy more diplomatic methods? Oh, but that would take real "intelligence" and critical thinking.
ReplyDeleteSo just keep pi$$in em off and try to guess where they will retaliate next instead.
Yeah, great plan.
How about threats from within from the Muslims in the administration.

DeleteHow about that half a billion dollar mosque they built in MD
DeleteWe don't need all this spying. Just let the enemies know that if they attack us, we destroy them. Mutually Assured Destruction worked fine during the cold war and it will work today.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why the NSA actually knows in advance about many crimes committed in the US but does not act. That they cannot explain.Horrific crimes that are committed on our soil by our citizens are completely ignored when they could have been prevented. If the NSA truly had our interests in mind they would address domestic and foreign issues alike.
