John S.D. Eisenhower, the son of a five-star general turned president who forged his own career in the U.S. Army and then chronicled the history of the American military in numerous books, died Saturday. He was 91.
Eisenhower lived on Maryland's Eastern Shore in the community of Trappe, Md. In a statement, his family gave no cause of death.
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel called Eisenhower "a true patriot" and praised him as "an accomplished soldier, diplomat and author." More
A lot of famous people lived in St. Michaels(Donald Rumsfield, Harold Baines grew up there, Tony Snow, Robert Mitchum to name a few. Maude (I hit a blank) grew up in Cambridge.
I knew Home Run Baker lived in Trappe and Annie Oakley lived in Cambridge but had no idea Mr. Eisenhower lived in Trappe as well.

ReplyDeleteWhere did Mitchum live, Trappe or Cambridge? Also, Dick Cheney has a large estate on one of the side roads just past St. Michaels.
