  1. Im a bit confused by this. I have never heard of 3 of the 4.

Diakonia Inc is in Ocean City

Samaritan Ministries is listed as being in Pocomoke.

When searching the name Second Chance Help, Inc the name that came up was Annette P Wilson. When I googled that name the only information I could find was that they were against the Red Light District store.

Village of Hope I have heard of.
I wonder why no funds were given to Halo or The Christian Shelter. They along with Village of Hope seem to help the most and are in this area.

  2. Unless churches can prove greater than 80% of all money taken in go specifically to people in need, their revenue needs to be taxed.

Too many "pastors" fleecing the old and gullible to fund their personal medical/dental coverage, their retirement plans, for them to drive around in Lincoln Navigators and have a housing stipend. Then they complain that they have to visit church members in the hospital that it's such a burden on them...

There is no reason that hard working, honest taxpayers have to solely bare the burden of social programs.

  3. Who decides how much goes to where? I'm with the first commentor. If they're out of town, why does the money flow thru here? (More questions here than answers.)

  5. Come on somebody who knows, please answer the questions. Diakonia is in OC, right? Samaritan Ministries is in Pocomoke, right? Come on, please answer. And who makes the decision of what goes where.

I think you are the one that needs to shut up. The Mayor of Salisbury gets money given to him and he gives it way to other towns. There are shelters in the Salisbury area that could use that help! Maybe if you actually donated to those shelters or helped with them you would see that they also need help. Maybe you should stop spewing your hate and try to help instead of sitting behind a computer trying to make yourself feel better by putting other down.

  9. What a waste. I think Joe posted the same thing like this last year.

    1. Its only a waste if you don't need the assistance. Homelessness is growing on the lower shore. Because the shelters only allow persons to stay for a limited amount of time, they move from county to county hence tri-county funding. The Dept. Of Housing and Community Development decides who gets what. The Christian Shelter does not accept grant money and Halo did not apply.
