Make Democrats clean up their own mess.
Democrats are pleading for help, in the face of the implosion of Obamacare. House Republicans confronted with these pleas should listen to those who say: “Don’t do something; just stand there.”
It was Obama and the Democratic Senate who caused the disaster now unfolding. Specifically, Democratic red- or swing-state senators such as Mary Landrieu (La.), Kay Hagan (N.C.), Mark Begich (Alaska), Mark Pryor (Ark.), and even Al Franken (Minn.) provided key votes to adopt the monstrosity without a single ballot to spare. Let them face the music; let them reap the consequences. And let them try to fix what’s utterly unfixable.
If they want to delay the individual mandate, fine: They can go first. If they want to fix the grandfathering rules so that people who want to keep their plans really can do so, fine: They can go first on that, too. Let them figure out the details. Let them try to make it work. The House can always vote to add its assent once the Senate has acted — all while noting, accurately, that even the delay or the grandfathering fix won’t make the whole of Obamacare successful or popular.

I agree. The media is too much in bed with the Democrats and covers up their messes and their lies. Until such times as things change, ie, the media actually does it's job of watchdog, the GOP should just let the cards fall where they may.
ReplyDeleteHistory will not be kind to the party. It took them a number of years and a new generation to get over their history of the KKK and Jim Crow laws. Now they will have another obstacle.
"Always take advantage of a crisis"
ReplyDeleteI agree with the proposition that the Republicans should let the Democrats try to fix this mess. Furthermore, they should not obstruct the Democrats' attempts to do so.
ReplyDeleteTo say that they should "just stand there" is a load of bull. They need to go all in on offense. They need to remind the people how hard they fought against Obamacare, and why. They need to remind people that their unheeded warnings about Obamacare are now being realized. They need to remind people that this is just the tip of the iceberg, and that things will continue to get worse from here as more of the plan is implemented. They need to remind people about how hard Obama and the Democrats rammed this through Congress using questionable tactics. They need to remind people that the President and the Democrats lied to them, and continue to lie to them, in an attempt win support for this law.
The Republicans need to keep the Democrats tied tight to Obamacare. They can't depend on the media to do it. If they don't stay on offense, rest assured that the Democrats and the media will change the subject to distract attention from the Obamacare disaster.
And please let us see the Republican alternative.
ReplyDelete9:45 you are a moron. THe Republican alternative would be anything other than what your president has done. Keep drinking the Koolaid. And go get a job you loser.
