ACCOMAC, Va. (AP) - A former volunteer firefighter charged in a string of arsons on the Eastern Shore has pleaded guilty to 68 counts.
Media outlets report that 40-year-old Charles Smith III pleaded guilty Thursday in Accomack County Circuit Court to 67 counts of arson and one count of conspiracy to commit arson. He will be sentenced in December.

No doubt he will be sentenced to a career in the SFD, where he can continue his arson spree and justify the need for so many paid farmin. However, he and his assistant will have to work 7am to 5pm as our city is protected by the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department the rest of the time. And who knows, the volunteers can probably handle it 24/7/365. The mayor won't give them a chance.

ReplyDeleteIt's going to be interesting to see the outcome of Tanya Bundick's case. The reality is the only thing she was caught in the act of was driving a van. The conspiracy charge most likely will stick but the arson charge may be hard.
